evo pro caving in :(

I've been playing defense for two years and have been using the same evo pro since i began, but now the walls are caving in so the ball gets stuck at the throat when i go to throw it. I know ive had the head forever and its been used for checking quite a bit, but is there any way i can fix this

find something wide like a baseball and stick it in the throat of the head.
