[help] 2 diamonds or 4 diamond v

so i strung my head, and i'm trying to get a v for my pocket. on my game head, its topstring, space, shooter, space, shooter, space, then i want put a v in.

the v on my game head is 3 diamonds at the top. however, i cant put in 3 diamonds, only 4 or 2.

this is wat the 2 diamond would look like.

is there anyway i could get a 3 diamond?

yep, do the 3 diamond right under your second straight shooter....that, or just use what feels best to you

i had a 2 diamond V for a while in my game stick for a while and it worked really well for me, but again thats all preference...

i would say try them both and just see which u liked better

if your wondering 4 diamond has less whip becuase it catches less and 2 has a little more

really not that much of a difference, the main thing that will change the whip is the tension.

If you really want a three-diamond V, and also want one space between all your shooters, then just move your shooters up or down one.

4 diamond has a tendency to catch more... Think about it, the ball can have room to sit under the 4 diamond, while on the 2 diamond it cannot.

yea i did.

i tried the 2 diamond today at practice, it was ok. after awhile though, it got sloppy. i think it was my shooters and not the v.

i might try the four diamond tomorrow.

if that does't work, i might have to slide the shooters down, along wit the v so i can have a 3 diamond one. btw, will that mess up the way it shoots cuz it passes somewhat ok.

and just to clarify things, the pocket is basically just to channel the ball right?

It can be looked at that way, YoungSav... By moving the shooters up or down a row, you'll be able to achieve a "3 diamond wide" U shooter.

Personally, I would have a 4 diamond u. But my best advise to you, is to experiment and try different methods until you find one that works well for you. No one else can tell you what method is best for you.

yeah... 2 spaces at the top... and really... it doesnt matter... on my 2 game sticks i have 2 straights and a 5 wide U on my clutch, and 1 straight and 2 U's (5 and 3 wide) on my PP... and they play very similarly...
