Bracket Problems

Can someone explain a few things to me:

Why #4 ranked Georgetown did not make the tournament

Why #2 Seeded UVA plays #7 ranked UMBC, while #7 seeded Maryland plays #20 ranked Denver.

Is the lacrosse bracket designed differently than every other sport? Basically, the better I do in the season, the harder team I play first round.

Pretty much by viewing this bracket, I can assume if I go 9-5 (Maryland), then I am rewarded by playing a 10-6 team, but if I go 12-3 (Virginia) losing to Duke twice, I have to play #7 ranked 12-3 UMBC.

On a side note...Does any one have any upsets happening? I have Navy beating UNC and Colgate destroying Notre Dame in the first round.

I have Colgate over N.D. too. Also I have no idea how Carolina gets a 4 seed.

I agree. Georgetown got shafted...

But even though they're the only team to beat Duke so far I don't think they'll be the last. I see Duke as choke artists when it comes down to NCAA Weekend. No offence to all the Duke believers out there.

I also have Colgate over ND. I have Hofstra over JHU as much as I'd love to see JHU at Championship weekend. I also have UVA over Duke in the Championship.

then shouldn't they not make denver fly all the way to md, and instead have them play nd or something similar to that if they are that worried about it?

if anyone got the shaft though it was umbc. georgetown lost too many games they should have won to get in.
