So I have been playing goalie for almost a month now was doing good till now. My first game my goalie let in like 4 in the first 4 minutes. So my coach put me in, and i only let in like 7 goals the rest of the game. So I started our next game and only let in 3 the first quarter against ward melville. so i play the second and get hit in the calf and was limping a bit. then i start our third game and let in 5 goals but these were stoppable shots. I just didnt step. I think that the hit kind of scared me a bit. Now im having trouble stepping again no matter how much i think about it.
has this ever happened to you and how do you fix it.

basically same thing here. My coach told me to go to camp as goalie so i guess im full time goalie. He also said the goalie trainer is one of the best. Dont know who he is. Its at the Doug Shanahan camp

Hey guys, i had some confidence/ mental block problems last year. I went to Bill Pilats goalie school. Not only did i learn alot. the whole camp is all about goalie, and it realy boosts ur confidence and you see how awsome goalie is. If your haveing trouble stepping just find a friend of urs and have him take slow shots on you while u force ur self to step at it. This will help Good luck

this is just stuff you should work on now going into the summer. i dont know how old you are but if your in like your sophmore or junior year you wanna look your best for the summer, even at the camps because the coaches that attend can lead you to different camps or showcases or even teams. try to work on these ossies on the weekends. i kinda go by the "there is no such thing as pain" saying and just deal with it. of course i get the mental lapse every once in awhile but trying to work through it rather than around it is a much better thing to do in season instead of worrying about it after. view each game as a practice so you can work on it. im not saying that you should take games lightly but im saying that you should try to focus on technique in games as much as possible.
