stx has come out with the new "crankshaft" with a 10 degree offset which claims to give the player better ball retention and more powerfull and accurate shots. however i recently purchased a g22 crankshaft and found that it looks and feels the same as normal stick. What i found is that most heads already have a natural 10 degree offset and the g22 head acctually is tilted up to compensate for the shaft being 10 degrees. i have provided some picks with my stx primer compared with the cshaft we also put a normal head on th c shaft and found that it creates about a 20 degree offset. so is this just a cheep ploy for stx to get more money out of us for nothing? Please comment back for any agreements or arguments.

1st pic-normal g22 c-shaft

2nd pic-normal non-c-shaft stx primer

3rd pic-g22 and primer side by side comparison

4th pic-primer on the crank shaft = 20 degrees

5th pic-g22 on normal shaft = slightly upward tilt

Well, you're certainly not the first to do this:
http://www.lacrosseforums.com/showthread.php?t=39984&highlight=STX+crankshaft

And the crankshaft is just STX's way of getting out of having to pay royalties to brine whenever they make an offset head. Plus, all the crankshaft heads have a counterpart non-crankshaft head that is just cheaper
Kannon=Primer
K18=Proton Power
X3=Pinched X2
G22=Lighter Xcalibur

This has been discussed multiple times, so search next time.

Wow, little late on the uptake, this has been discussed about a million times, its a way to get around the offset patent.

Umm ya maybe its me but i think everyone knows this already. Not trying to put down your research, actually props for actually experimenting. The reason for this is because Brine has a trademark on offset heads or something with offsetness of a head. since heads generally have a 10 degree offset, STX counteracted with a Shaft that was bent 10 Degrees, but in order to keep it legal the head was bent foward to pass the table top test. If im not wrong STX tried this in the past kind of with the CO2 shaft. this only accepted non offset heads
