I'm a bit confused...I'm playing high school lacrosse, going into my senior year. As a sophmore I played midfield, this year I play attack, but next year we lack a good goalie. I really don't know what to do, we have four strong attackmen (including me) and no goalie that will be half legit. I am willing to work extremely hard for the next year to get good at goalie, camps, everyday offseason practice, w/e. I've been messing around with goalie and am getting the hang of it. I do enjoy it but I also love attack...At the level I play at and the teams we play against, I think I could get to a point where I'd be more than able to hold my own. Ugh idk what I'm looking for, maybe just some motivation to play goal. Here's a question, how fast did it take you to 'get the hang' of keeper? And do you think it's worth making a change from something I've been working at my entire high school to something new for my senior year?

honestly, i dont think forums are your best bet for your answer. It's so stupid when everyone keeps putting up help me threads. YOu should probably ask someone you actually know

Talk to your coach. He knows you and knows what he needs.

Try it over the summer. You will probably either love it or hate it... Let's put it this way: if you don't LOVE it, don't do it. I don't know any good goalie who is not passionate about the position.

Goalie is a great position to play. But you need confidence in your self and you're defense, that they will support you. It takes a lot of time, effort, and dedication. It took me all last summer to get the hang of it. If you're willing to work, go for it.

I love goalie i have been playing it for a year and a half and i know it doesnt sound long but i sucked when i moved to CT and after a fall ball season i had earned a starting position by beginning of the season. so i say if your willing to make the commitment and you think you can handle by all means go for it
