I have a 6 foot board thats 2 inches wide hanging down the center of my goal, with 3 dots painted on it, i go for the dots, i figure if i can hit a spot the size of the ball repetitively then i can put it where i want.

Eliminator is a great target.

But that cost money...

dude tyhe best target practice I have done is soooo cheap, but it works.....Everyday change it up, and change up shots...

Tie old jerseys to your crossbar int he top corners or middle (key is to change everyday, don't get repetitive...)

then, have like a dozen or more balls and shoot on the run, not still, and change up yourshots....ie: underhand, overand, behind the back, etc...everytime, you start getting a feel...then next day the targets are new but you find your shot is there to hit these different targets....

Jerseys tied up work great for practice, boards suck for me because I shoot ard and it gives up huge rebounds in a small back yard and may even spring back to hit me....Old jerseys and lots of balls is better. We do that in box lax to the other net if there's no goalie, we tie a jersey or two each top corner and work on it, if you play box or have cement, try this....On the run, bounce shot to hit the jersey top corner, I worked on it so much it has now become a known weapon of mine and every goalie fears it in box, they step out on the bounce only to see it go high in the net on them....John Grant is the master of that bounce shot and marechek uses it too but less often

I used duct tape. I taped a square in the top corners and aimed, it was great, especially when you hit the tape and it sounded all hard, the sound makes you feel like you're shooting faster than usual.

Jerseys. Man, I never thought of that.

Yes, the Eliminator is expensive. But if you can afford it (I can't), why not go for the best?

u can tie any kind of objects to the cross bar. For instance i use old cambles soup cans and i used to use milk cartons when I was just starting. The good thing about these things is they are cheap and you can get different sizes of objects.

I hang a 4 x 4 foot piece of carpet in the goal using bungee cords. It teaches the fifth and sixth graders i coach to shoot for net, not goalie. Carpet is usually pretty easy to find for free. It's heavy, though. You may need to anchor the goal on windy days.
