ok i just started playing lax and i was wondering what the rules about going in the crease were cause i see alot of pictures with people jumping over it is that legal?

in pros, you can jump over the crease, but in college and under, you're not allowed to jump over the crease, even if you land outside of it.

That is incorrect. You can jump across the crease as long as you don't land inside the crease, that's for NCAA and NFHS.

and if you can go into your own crease. so if your a defenseman you can cut across the crease for a slide or what not.

Just so long as the defenseman (or any player) does not have possession of the ball BEFORE they enter the crease.

And, actually, if you are ruled to have the *potential* to land outside the crease, but the balls goes on the goal before you touch inside the crease AND if you touch inside the crease because of the actions of the defense, a goal can be awarded. Personally, I don't like the wording of this rule because it's asking us to figure out what we think might have happened if things were different.
