I recently tore my acl at an indoor tournament to get back to my season i would have to make a 4 month recovery after surgery. I had the surgery four weeks ago. I wanna kno if any of you have or know someone who has done this and if they came back that fast if so, what kind of excersizes did you do. Right now im just rehabing the crap out of it. Any tips would help.
p.s. this is my senior year and my team has a chance to do very well in the state. help needed!

Man, that sucks. I really hope it works out for ya. 4 months for a complete ACL tear is a short time for recovery. Granted everyone heals at a different rate and the serverity of the tear will make a difference in the time needed but in all honesty, if it was a complete tear, 4 months may be pushing it. What did your surgeon tell you in terms of recovery time?

my surgeon said that it all depends on how fast i recover. It could be a 3 months to a year. My rehab doctor guy says i can prob. get back to about 80-90% in 5 months or i could push really hard for four and take a chance. Either way i would be wearing one of those custom braces which im assuming will slow me down anyway. I just need to know if anyone knows of something that helps that knee get better fast or really good excersises.

The only thing I've heard that will help heal your knee is time. That's what i was told at least.
Don't come back so soon i tore my ACL and meniscus and if u come back to soon u will tear it again and never fully recover, the only people who come back in 2-4 months are pro athletes becasue they do physical therapy everyday for 2-4 hours a day, where u probably go 3 days a week for an hour, coming back so soon is going to be bad for your knee and u wont be able to cut or turn and run fast at all!
Just work on quad and hamstring strenght becasue thats what will make for a quicker recovery, beacuse a weak quad and hamstring is what causes the ACL tear.

my best tip is dont come back too soon. I have torn mine again. Had a complete reconstruction the first time, just a small tear this time so playing through the pain with the brace but it pops out most training sessions or games, it is no fun, but this is my last semester so I will probably have surgery again later in the year
Just look after it and do what the doc says
