hey guys, we were working on face dodges today at camp, and i was having some trouble. i play long pole and never had to do one before. I know how to do it, but execution is rough. i show the guy my stick on my right and pull it across my body perfectly fine. the problem is that when i come out of the dodge, i don't switch hands, or a just go one handed. our camp coach (Farifield University Head Coach BTW) says you have to change your hands. it just happens naturally, and i couldnt change it for that 5 min drill. any tips?

choke up on your stick. as flashy as it looks to do with the entire pole extended, choke up. i guarantee it will will be alot easier.
some coaches actually do not want their poles choking up, but when you have six feet of stick to try and protect, what better way to protect it, than not even show them the stick at all?

on the switch it's all personal preference on how you do it, but this is just what I do. I'll come out of the face dodge, then leave my top hand where it is, but move my bottom hand a little above my top hand, then slide the hand that was on top, but is now on the bottom a little lower and keep going from there. It's pretty smooth transition for me.
