i was wondering what kind of pocket is best for d poles.....and should i use soft mesh or hard? thanks in advance!

I use a hard mesh, and I string the pocket very high, to make ground balls easier to pick up, plus it allows for a quicker delivery when passing meaning there is less time for your 6 foot pole to be checked.

generally, not many people now-a-days even use soft mesh at that higher levels of play.
it is up to your preference as to how you want your pocket strung. most poles like to have little to no whip at all, most just bag their pockets out to give themselves more hold.
adjust your pocket to your playing style, if you like whip, use whip, if not, then dont. its as simple as that.
explore different types of mesh. alot of poles also like smaller diamond counts(6D/7D...) for the hold it gives them.

trads are always nice if you can string it, or larger diamonds are nice too.
