hey, i am a longpole who usually plays crease. im 5'-10", 250 lbs. I have a very fast sprint, faster than many teammates on the school team. i can run 2.5/3 milesin 18 mins. but my long distance running is sh***y! i am still kind of recovering from a pulled hamstring.
My coaches love the way i play, im better than most veteran players, not being cocky or anything, and ive only been playing for about 2 years. I want to make starting varsity this upcoming season.
Does anyone have some tips on how to get that long distance running alot better? also how to work on my stamina to be able to play like 3 games in a row. thanks in advance

To clarify, you are asking how to improve your stamina over long distance? This is much different than increasing your stamina of high intensity activities.

If you are that fast and can run 2.5 - 3 miles at around the 6 minute per mile mark...I'm unsure what you're looking for?
Are you winded at the end of games? If not I would continue to do speed work. When I'm training good I only do a distance run 1 - 2 times per week. Other than that its all speed work and I'm usually good to go for games.

i can only do the 2.5 miles in 18 mins limited times, but usually its like 22 mins for 2.5 miles(sorry for not explaining that). Also, i asked how to increase my stamina in means of how to run like a 7 min mile. In a game when we're playing man D, and i have to play the attackman, i get winded out to say.
Our coaches like to have high intensity practices every day 5 days week during the season. except for days right before a game, we do alot of conditioning, so i want to be able to complete that without "breaking a sweat" to say(not literally) thanks. im rereading these posts and i kinda dont know how to put it in words it seems, ha

i would say running would help maybe try going 6 mph for a minute than 10 mph for 30 than back again for a while? it would help your sprint and conditioning,
