Hmm, I am right below lake ontario, it's been snowing hard since 10 here. We already got pounded earlier in the weak. Unfortuneately, we have regents next week, so snow can't get cancelled unless it's really bad on those days. Though my principal came on the anouncments to tell us to take our studing materials home because if we don;t have school on monday, we will start midterms and regents tuesday. But it's about up to my knees so I'm a happy person.

Lilaxgurl-Which regents you takin?Aren't they the ones that if it snows on that day, you hafta wait utnil June to take it?

Yah enjoi, this is Illinois. Our back door has snow covering 4 feet of the door. I had to go and dig my dog out of the snow and carry her in. Its rediculous. I jumped in a snow bank and was a good 2 feet below the top of it, and mind you I'm not very short.

Yeah, I'm not taking any regents but like Math A and crap yeah, if we cancell, you have to take them in june or I think they also have a augest one too.

Hmmm, a lot of people have generators. I don't think that 90% of people die lol. When we had our ice storm like 2 years ago I didn't have power for like 7 days (my area was the last to get fixed), and it was freezing. But if you seal
out a room with a fireplace, that one rom is really warm, but man does the radio get boring. But the rest of the rooms are freezing. Snow days are mad fun though if it's just because of the snow, because most of us can deal with it. Either way you can stay home a sleep. ZZZZzz.

But yeah, snow is starting to slow down but it's upposedto snow for the rest of the weak. I'm soo exited. I hope we get a snow day on monday though, but not likely. The streets are full of snow. One of my neighbor ( I think they were my neighbors) was out on a atv or whatever they're called, not a snow mobile but what the grandma on napoleon was sand duning with, in the streets. Looked like fun.

They say we might get almost 30 inches here in Boston, its a state of emergency and all that. Of course it couldnt happen on a school night, but on the night of our biggest hockey game of the year, which got cancelled. I hate snow.

30", no. I was just watching the weather channel and the storm is pretty much over. Syracuse nor Buffalo got over 15" so far...

That's pretty funny about the dog lzlax.

wow thats so awesome that u have snow days. ive never had one, even when i lived in chicago for 10 years.
btw what are the regents?
the closest thing i've had to a snow day was last year there were gnarly brush fires all over southern california and the air quality was so bad that they cancelled school for all san diego schools and who knows where else. there was so much ash basically couldnt breath outside.

lilaxgurl23

Bascially a test you have to take to graduate in New York, okay well it depends on your school but basically a lot wont let you graduate if you don't pass a few.. There are tons. Well okay I know you have to take are Math A which is half geometry and one year of algebra, one for french 3 (not required to graduate in my school), earth science, bio, chem, probably physics, english 10, global 10 which actually includes all of 9 too, and there is math B which is half of geometry one year of trig (not required to graduate in my school). But bascially if you want to get credit for a class with a regents you have to pass the regents. Ohh, sawyer I think you mis-inturpreted me, I took math a last january too. Mad easy because of the year before comlpaints. I loved the question about the flag pole and what shape would a triangle make if it was going around the flag pole. But yeah, if you have a regents in january and it gets cancelled because of a snow day (or you fail), you have to take them in june or augest when they are administered again. But yeah, snow has bascially stopped, I made a snow angel last night and now its gone!

SawyerLaxGirl44
01-23-2005, 08:08 AM
Yea, definitly mis-understood you.Basically, theres a regents for every class you take in HS.(thats wat it seems like)At the end of the year I'm taking the Math B Regents (i think thats what it is) and the US History one and English 11 (3 days long...)

Pretty much, if you don't hafta take regents, your luck as hell cuz they are a big ol' pain in the butt!!

lilaxgurl23
01-23-2005, 08:15 AM
Yeah I'll be taken math B, english 10, global 10, chem, and french 3, it will be a royal pain, but at least it doesn't count towards your overall average. I will post a pic of my porch once I take it, should be sweet.

oh, we just have to take a high school exit exam. its way easy supposively. and they give it to u as a sophomore and let u retake it ur junior year if u dont pass. the regents sound like SATIIs except for highschool. like tests on certain subjects.

how did u not realize that there was snow on the ground?
