what are those black straps people are wearing under their knees and what does it do

I had to wear them for shin splints. I am pretty sure that is what you are describing. They help quite a bit.

the jumper things i think they are called alot of basketball players wear them i think its for the knee or shin i think im gonna pick one up

it helps with a condition called osgood-slaughters (SP?) which is basically if your knees ache when you jump or run alot right under the kneecap to be exact

I think it for people who the patella tendon in their knee hurts.
