What can I say? I am a die hard duke fan living in Chapel Hill. It is great to be in one of the national centers of college basketball and the home of the greatest rivalry.

But anyway, I know there are many others who absolutely hate my blue devils including duke's finest JJ RE****. The kid is straight up sick. Anyone who says that he is not the best jump shooter in college basketball is a complete idiot. Everyone hates him but as a duke fan it is incredible to see him drop his (like last game against FSU) 8 three pointers.

Many people thought that we would be down and out in the ACC this year but where are we now? ATOP THE ACC (possibly the best conference in college basketball ever). Oh well, just hoping to arise some conversation/controversy with all the other ACC fans out there who are on the board.

i love duke too, i actually got to play in cameron indoor. i went to a duke bball camp in 4th grade or something and got to play on the court, pretty good time, plus i got too see trajan langdon and a few other guys on the team.

duke just sucks in general. my sister went up there to check it out in highschool and said all the people there were jerks. she is now at UNC.

anyone who says duke sucks is ignorant and a complete idiot. they are one of the top programs in the NCAA year in and year out. the things coach K's done with this program are amazing. i think when all is said and done and K retires, he will be the best coach in NCAA history.

Let me rephrase this: Duke is overrated. Period.

They haven't played ANYONE worthwhile. There first ACTUAL game was at home against the Terps and what happens? Their non-existant depth killed them. They dont play their actual schedule till later in the season for TV rating purposes. Their first worthwhile game is @ Wake Feb 2nd. Have fun with that.

Take out J.J. and Williams and you have a high school JV team.

I never said that, but every JV team has one good player (Ewing) and the rest of the team is not so good. Ewing is a smart player, but Duke has 3 potential weapons. And J.J. isn't always on...

Duke won't end up a 5 seed in the tourney or anything, but they won't be a 1. Fo sho.

alright, first of all, just shut it chariot. JJ is not inconsistent. If you wanna talk about inconsistency, let me ask you about your boy Rashad McCants who i believe scored less than 5 points against VIRGINIA!!! WE ARE TALKING ABOUT VIRGINIA!!!!!! JJ is actually the leading scorer in the ACC.

Ewing is the inconsistent one for DUKE but when he is on, he is one of the sickest guards in the ACC.

By the way, Duke has played MSU who is top 15, Oklahoma who is 16-3 (don't know what # they are), miami who stayed very close to WF playing on the road, and FSU whom WF lost too. Need i remind you that WF beat UNC. No doubt DUKE does not have the talent level they have had in the past but they have still found ways to win. We will see at the end of the ACC season how DUKE finishes and whether they are able to hold up in the tough schedule of the ACC.

With 11 games left, duke plays 6 ranked teams...all conference opponents. They've really had an easy schedule so far. We'll see what happens...

as far as JJ Redd ick goes (yeah i blocked the censor because I ain't swearing), he's a hot and cold shooter. If he ain't going to be automatic as a shooter, then he better improve his all around skills to be a lottery pick in the NBA. He's just a shooter...they're a dime a dozen in the nba.He's a pure shooter, but a dumb shooter. His shot selection is awful at times. The only time he's automatic is from the free throw line...that needs to turn into automatic from everywhere. His .431 FG PCT needs to improve a lot.

I admire sheldon williams a lot more then red****. Williams is a tough player, while I see Red**** as a spoiled prettyboy at times.

It's amazing that duke has had such an easy schedule so far while still being in the ACC...

McCants is unselfish. He didn't score a point in the first half, and UNC was leading 62-26 at halftime. If JJ didnt score a point in the first half, would Duke be up that big? No. They dont have enough weapons. It just goes to show that our #2 guy (in my opinion) doesn't have to score a point, and we can still lay it down. UNC had more 3s in the first half than UVA had field goals. At one point, we were leading 98-48. WITHOUT McCANTS.

If Duke played Wake like Wake played UNC, Duke would have been CREAMED. A solid whipping, old yeller style. Wake didn't miss a FT. Hands down, they beat us. No way around it. When Wake is on, they are the best team in the country.

My point exactly. Duke struggled AT HOME against Clemson, until J.J. decided his nails were dry enough and saved their hides.

Well, thats all opinion. It depends on which one you are more involved in. Some would say UNC and Duke, some would say Mich. and Ohio St. Its all preference.

No, it is fact. If you look at the sales between each of the teams you and I noted, it is obvious that Yankees and Red Sox beat the rest.

Besides, everyone has heard of the Yankees and Red Sox. If you take a poll throughout this country, the majority will recognize either of those two baseball teams over Duke, UNC, etc.

Syracuse, my team, is having another great season and IMO are better than Duke, but I'm unsure about UNC, they've been doing great all season. SU has two losses they shouldn't, damnit.

his lower percentage is due to the fact that people are gaurded more heavily when they are in that close. they usually are shots around/over people so therefore are harder to make. if he had open shots inside the three like he has outside the three he would obviously make those

Chariot i agree with you, its obvious that UNC is by far the most talented team in the country. I mean look at your starting lineup, you guys are stacked. DUKE is far from stacked having only like 3 elite/ possibly make all ACC. If only duke had kept their team (deng, livingston, chris humpfries(had a letter of intent but then decided not to come), micheal thompson(transfered)), unc vs duke this year would have been the best game ever. UNC vs. DUKE will still be a very good game at cameron especially if UNC is struggling with foul trouble. At the dean smith center, it could get ugly. Even as a duke fan i'll say that because UNC is that good. I really think that you guys are almost a lock for the final four if not the championship.

He gets respect. That's why everyone complaind about Dean Smith "paying off the refs". Dean Smith corrected the refs on the most technical of things. He basically wrote the book. Coach K is up there, also. It's not exactly FAIR, but what can ya do? Roy Williams sure as hell doesn't get any calls though. I don't know what thats all about. It seems refs are itching to give McCants 3 quick fouls before the half.

He has gotten better though. He used to be a little girl on the court. Now, hes almost TOO unselfish.

I guess, well I know that im pretty biased on it, but I think McCants has gotten the shaft on some calls. Like against Wake. Strickland obviously, blantantly threw an elbow at McCants in a tie up, and McCants was 2 seconds away from letting Strickland know what he thought, and what does McCants get? The refs call a double foul. A double foul? That was ridiculous. Strickland was playing dirty and McCants held himself together and gets a foul. Even Vitale was questioning that.

And another thing, Vitale never ever ever ever stops talking about Duke. It could be Western North Dakota State vs. East Wyoming Central A&T Comm. College, and Vitale will start going off on a rant about J.J. It gets old, fast.

I do agree with you there. But i have many a time heard games this year where out of no where "the tarheels are excellent baby, they are the team to beat" and "the two premere teams in the country, the illini and the North Carolina. I would love to see these two in a matchup." It really comes down to whoever is on top and Duke has been on top so much in the past. Dukie V does get sort of obnoxious though and believe me i hear about it non-stop living in a house of carolina fans in chpel hill.

I've grown up and lived either in Durham or just outside of it all my life, and I must say, I hate Chapel Hill (everything about it, not just UNC) with a passion, but that is an entirely different subject... none the less, it just furthers my alliance to Duke.

I was surprised at how well the Blue Devils held WF. It was a good game (especially being a Duke fan). Redik was amazing and Melchioni really stepped up.
