ok, i was going to bed, and had my lights off, and i reached over to turn off my monitor which was already dark, except for the power button glowing blue, and got up to push it off, and knocked my sweet tea over, *im southern so i always have sweet tea handy* well i know what to do when you get electronics wet so i imediatly shut my system down via my surge protecter, well luckly the only thing that got any thing on it, besides my carpet, was my wireless keyboard, wihich im going to leave under a fan and spray with compressed air in the morning, but now every 30 seconds or so Norton pops oppen saying that a virus was deleted. I hadnt been doing this 30 miniuts ago when i loged off.. any body know if sweet tea can give your computer a virus? or if shutting my system down by just clicking the surge protector off can effect it? thanks, im goign to go run norton on a scan to see if any thing pops up..

I would uninstall Norton and download AVG. After installation and set-up, perform scan.

no it's the sweet tea you should stay away from that you might catch one of those viruses
throw your computer in the garbage. computers hate sweet tea.
seriously tho, run the keyboard under water thoroughly, let it dry for a week and then try it again.

yea throw the computer and key board in the bath tub and have a pool party
And then put it in a bikini and feel it up. Computers love that it drives them wild for you to be doing that so daringly out in public....

umm..spilt beer on my keyboard...dried as much as I could reach myself, turned it upside down and let it drain...only problem I had was the z key got stuck...but then how often do you use that...I would think running it under water would only make the issue worse...cant help you with the other stuff tho

water would have helped it alot more than leaveing it alone.

Draw a warm bath. Add bubbles. Grab a toothbrush and a rubber ducky. Get in bath and scrub keyboard thouroughly. Play with said ducky (and/or tug boat, if you're lucky enough) and let keyboard soak overnight.
I'm kidding.

yeah i spilled milk in my keyboard. I let it dry for a while, then tried it again, but the directional arrows wouldn't work, along with the l, m, and k keys. SO I got a new one.
EDIT: scratch that. None of the keys work. Sometimes. Sometimes they all work. I typed for about a minute, and the keys would work half of the time, and wouldn't work the other half.

wouldn't it be crazy if the "I" key didn't work, along with the M, L, and K? or if you did it this past Jan. 17th?

keyboards are dishwasher safe, assuming you allow them to dry for long enough afterwards

I think he was referring to Martin Luther King (MLK) Jr. Day.

The 17th was MLK Brent. So much for looking edumacated.
Anyays, my sister spilt hot chocolate on her laptop, sent it to a computer repair shop for $50 was good as new, but I think a laptop would be affected more than a keyboard.

Hmm..I got ice cream all over my key board last weekend....I poped out all they keys from it and washed it then vacumed it to get all the extra water out. There was like crumbs and sticky stuff and a bunch of nasty stuff under the keys. lol.

if you have a brother I could easily make a guess as to what that "sticky stuff" was

Stick it in boiling water and let it dry for a week. Pull it all apart though, there's some things in there you may not want to get wet. Circuit boards, wireless components and such. If those have tea all over them just use a damp cloth to take it off.
And the tea defenitly didn't cause a virus.

i got it situated, my space bar is kinda heavy feeling, like when i push it feels like its pushing back up, and i tried taking a bath with it, worked great, now we have a great relation ship.
Oh and the virus went away when i gave my cpu a hug. A.K.A. Ran all my anti virus/spyware stuff.

I sometimes slip my CPU the hot beef. The USB port has more than one use, you know.
