turf..ehh. I'm not so much of a fan of it because the game is a lot faster and the ball really bounces around and dances more. I just love playing on grass.
You should PROBABLY wear sneakers. Turf is pretty much like playing on a rug or carpet so you're not going to need the molded and spike soles of your cleats. You also might wanna wear long socks or stuff that covers your body, because when you fall: you're going to get scraped badly.

Yeah, I wear cleats sometimes but it's really not needed. I would just wear shoes and you can wear socks if you want too, it's all up to you, imagine playing lacrosse on carpet and falling, ouch. But yeah, expect it to be a lot faster and for the whole temperature thing, just wear shorts and tee-shirt or what you normally wear.

the ball on a turf field is going to move a lot faster. just wear your cleats or if you have turf shoes wear those.

it depends on what type of turff. if its the "normal" astroturff type of stuff, i would NEVER wear cleats on it ... thats basically like wearing cleats while playing on cement, there is nothing for the cleats to grab. Turff shoes obviously work well, but it sucks to have to buy new shoes just for a turff game, so i would suggest just wearing some sneakers. cross trainers would be best, bball shoes too. running shoes work well, but arent the best, cuz they are designed with only straight motion in mind, there is little lateral support in them. In cross trainers and bball shoes though, they build in lateral support becuase of the natuer of the sports ... which lax happens to be very similar too
granted, ive played on turff with runing shoes and been fine, but if you got a pair of turff shoes, cross trainers, or bball shoes id wear those first (in that order too ... except bball shoes can tend to be "heavier" but c'mon, its not that much weight)
I played in an old pair of basketball shoes, it worked decently. As its been said, turf+fall=turf burn. You cant really avoid it. High socks wont help either. Think about, when would your shin touch the ground? And if it does, i dont think your going to be worrying about the turf burn.

I just got back from playing on the most beaten down turf field ever: The Sports Zone in Trumbull, CT. I opted to wear molded football cleats and couldn't really notice any bad things about them.
I did, however, get knocked on my butt a couple times and scraped up my knees. There really isn't anything you can do to prevent that so...

I used to wear knee covors when I played on turf and now I just go without cuz playing defense I don't really fall to much. But as far as cleats go it does depend on the type of turf you're playing on. The field I went to it was like a grassy turf and it was long so I wore soccer cleats but for the short turf its better to wear turf shoes which are ideal or sneakers because as said before its like running around on carpet with cleats when playing on the short carpet like turf.
