no but it looks like it could be really nice, but cant say much cause no face pic. but uva wil be using it so it must be fairly pinched and strong

yeah, and no one can call that sidewall ugly, it seems to have an elegant sidewall design. nice and simple. i may be completely wrong, but i think it will have a nice pinch to it.

edit* i cant tell if it has the shortened throat. to me it doesnt look like it.

that actually does look really nice... it doesnt look like one of thos failed attempt heads... i wish they wouldnt put so many stringing holes in their heads tho... still looks good, id rock one

I think that is coming out the same day Mikey's swizzle and swerve are coming out. It will be interesting to see whose sells more of their product.

longrun brine will. it says its a lu exclusive, and i wouldnt be surprised if its limited in production. short term, thats tought. but unless gait decides to expand its distributers i think that it may be a limited edition head or something to that effect.

those stringing holes make it so easy to sting tho! but i guess its all a matter of opinion.

Reminds me of a safer approach by Gait. Gait's been pretty "experimental" with their head designs, a lot of times making them for certain positions (ie wizard, oracle, torque somewhat). This reminds me of a more conservative, well rounded approach by Gait-similar to what other companies did. Nitrous, Razer, Profile-all made by different companies, all light, relatively stiff, pinched, and extremely well rounded. All of these heads are very popular, being an upper end head with very good attributes in every aspect. It looks like Gait is trying to make their own Nitrous/Razer/Profile with their companies own twist on it...which probably means its going to be freakishly light (a la torque/triton/oracle), have a ton of stringing options, and probably one of those shortened throats.

As a player, I personally prefer those "well rounded" heads. I own a nitrous, a profile, and have been trying to get a razer for years. They all have similar attributes that I like, there's no real weakness in any aspect to them, and they're all slightly different.

wow that was great, hopefully your right ( I think that is what they are doing also) and hopefully it isnt like the oracle because the sidewall holes flare out lower down just like on the oracle.

I don't really like the sidewall design, it looks alot like a beginner head, and it's reminiscient of the Turbo. I'll bet that it's very stiff & strong, though.

Yes, this goes in the Equipment or Stick Tech forum.

Anyways, what are the benefits of the shortened throat? This is the first time I have ever heard of one.

02-04-2005, 09:34 PM
If this head has a shortened throat, then this is a faceoff head.
You want your hands as close to the head as you can, and a shortened throat would mean being even closer to the head.

OutBurst
02-04-2005, 09:36 PM
Hmm, that makes sense. Thanks.

Dan
02-04-2005, 09:39 PM
Yep, to stick tech!

The shortened throat means that you can put your hand closer to your head, giving you more ball control. Or on face-offs, you can move the head faster because you are closer to it.

Too bad it's only at LU for $80 unstrung. I'll wait for ebay :)

You can save $80 by shaving off some throat of your present faceoff head.

Wow this looks like one nice head....makes me dissapointed for buying the oracle w/o knowing how it really looked. But still Oracle aint too bad. Anyway this head looks to be a beast, if it is stiff enough for D then I will be sure to buy one. Is it me or does the bottom of the sidewall to about the middle of it remind you of the wizard's sidewall...Maybe an updated wizard since wizards being phased out?!? Seems kinda pinched? Maybe it will be a D head comparable if not better to Revo Pro, taking all the advantages of Wizard but in new design, possibly lighter weight, and some pinch.
If anyone has seen or heard anything about the GAIT CHAOS then PLZ TELL ME!!!Im desperate for more info

LaxBoozeWomen where did you find that other picture?

LaxBoozeWomen
02-04-2005, 11:23 PM
Its not to bad, once you get past the "not so pretty look" its alright. Not as stiff as I would like, but definatly lightweight. theres two pieces of plastic in face of the head that i am SURE will break. Durability issues....could possibly crush the head with my hands??? MAYbe...hopefully not haha. The scoop is sweeeeet, and pinch is ok. But mainly durability issues cause dont know if it will last for me on D.

Im seriously considering this as my next head instead of the Revo Pro...

btw that was 3 posts in a row, we have an edit button for a reason. and you should look into the revopro anyways, its beastly. this head doesnt look like it has the flared sidewalls, which is nice.

LaxBoozeWomen
02-05-2005, 04:06 PM
Yeah my bad about the posts, but it was like 1 in the morning so I wasnt thinking, but definatly glad it doesnt have the flared sidewalls, they tend to make heads look flat to me. And yeah im still gonna check out revo pro, its still my first choice for new head (with the Chaos coming in second, hopefully i can get both). I wonder if many people on UVa are gonna use the head....its only for sale on LU....Meh guess im not gonna get a lower price for it........

02-08-2005, 07:36 PM
I just hope it's like the torque... And not so much as the oracle. The oracle has found itself to be more of a d head, like a wizard. The chaos looks to be like a hybrid of the torque and oracle... Skinny little oracle throat, crazy oracle sidewalls, lots of torque sidewall holes, and the great torque scoop. I don't know, but as of right now between the evo pro, swerve and this new chaos I may go with the evo pro... Flawless head. I wonder how the chaos and swerve will be as top of the line heads...

In case anyone cares, this head will be a Lacrosse Unlimited exclusive for 2 months only, then it will be available everywhere. Also, rumor is LaxWorld will also be getting an "exclusive" (again 2 months) head and Sports Her Way will be getting the same type of deal for a new women's deBeer stick.

This thing looks a lot like the STX G-Force. There might be a little bit of drama at the next Gait family dinner.

This thing does look a stiff beast, but so did the Oracle so we’ll have to wait and see.

The rumor that LU will only have the exclusive for 2 months before it's released to all Gait retailers was confirmed by a Gait rep I talked to last weekend. Also this head is sweet, there was a prototype on display at the UVa game vs. Maryland this past weekend. It's freakishly light but supposedly has the strength of the E3 or simliar head. The holes on the throat end to role under so the lay flat, I don't know how to explain that any better. That seemed like a possible weakness to me, but I don't know Gait heads very well. I think Lax101 is right; it does seem like a great all round head, (maybe even stiff enough for D).

If the head's being sold only at one lacrosse store, its doubtful many people own it. Wait until it's available at all stores, then we might see some more reviews of it. Plus, it's like 80 unstrung and 100 strung, so not many are going to purchase it.

The same can be said about the Oracle, only a few people on TLF own one.

FeelTheRain

i was so close to buying one yesterday at lu when i was there but decdied not to. i may end up doing it after i get everything sold, which would be before the summer sometime. ill review it if i get it

i think to some point more is better. But I recently strung a friends Nitrous, and the thing has a hole every cm. I think it was rather over kill.

It's the perfect def head Not too pinched, great scoop, alittle lighter than the wizard but not nearly as light as the oracle, very very stiff (even more than the wizard). Attached to my Titan classic laser it rocks. Probably would be good for any position. Very durable.

when the oracle was first released it was very wide. They put out a much narrower version less than a month later. There was nearly an inch difference at some parts of the head between the two versions.
