Alright, I'm actually wearing my new CPX as a type (Got to wear it in!). I must say that it is very nice. My question is, do you place the cpx on your head so you look through the top bars, or the bars below the top bars?

I look straight through the top bars. Why would anyone wear it so that they can see below the bars? That is pretty stupid if you ask me.

All you have to do is read the instructions and you are told how to wear it properly.

No, it was deisgned so that the wearer sees above the top crossbar. Not the bar that is attached to the visor, but looks right under there.

Since the facemask is divided into like 4 sections to look through, I look through the second (from the top) usually.

now that isee it, i do the same as outburst.

To further explain what I was saying...

I'm pretty sure I look through both 1 and 2.

EDIT - Wow that's quite a crappy picture of my helmet.

1 being your main viewpoint?

I just tried it on and it depends what the situation is I think. Like if the ball was high in the air I would look through 1, if not than 2 usually. I might be confusing myself.

I can't look through 2 beause my nose is about an inch away from the mask.

:Edit: I can look through 1, 2, and 3. I mainly look through 1 but 2 sometimes comes in handy. I don't really notice when I switch viewpoints so I can't really comment.

Is your helmet like bent (even though these facemasks aren't supposed to ben) or extended more where I circled? Mine doesn't extend out like that.

EDIT - It's probably just the angle or something because you can also tell it's not aligned with your face perfectly there must be some angle.

The bar vertical bar is off by about .5 CM from flush. I don't really know because it came that way...

Maybe size has something to do with it. I wear mine as a L. I don't think I get my forehead up that far into the helmet.

well this is houw i wear mine...preferably low as possible..and i usualy wear my chin strap so it barely presses my chin so it doesnt pull the helmet up bc thats just uncomftorable...so where u see it now its in the same spot when i put on my chin strap

i have a load of slack in my chinstrap so its basically not there, then i can actually see through the right part

Warrior: I just noticed something. My vertical center bar is off-flush like yours it. It bends to the left.

What do you mean? Mine's straight.

If it were straight it would align perfectly with the "C" in the Cascade symbol...

It's a little off I guess but the cascade imprint could also be off.

OutBurst

Not really because it is pretty obvious that the bar is bent on both of ours.

"The CPX was designed to look out the top hole. We found in previous helmets players were pulling the helmet way down and trying to look out the top area on the mask which was not designed for that, so this time we designed the helmet to be pulled down and you look right throught the top section. we are a little biased but we think it has the best vision yet.

Thanks....Cascade Customer Service"

Emailed them. Maybe mine needs to be worn in more . .or I have a freakishly weird shaped head.

Don't worry, it is your head.

I am going to give Cascade a call and see what they have to say about my facemask.

It says that in the manual thing too, it also says that about your head. (even though I like to look through the second area too)

dudes its supposed to be seen out of the top bars so that the chinguard would ACTUALLY protect you from throat checks, but yeh i cant get mine to look out on the to bars, maybe its my head?

After a lot of trial and error and a bunch of peopl's opinions, it is my head. Whatever, I still like the CPX and I think you get better vision looking through the second area.
