I know the old traditional drink a ton of water during the day and the day before but does anyone have anything creative that has worked?
I'm looking for maximizing both physical and mental performance.
Personally I loved tournaments that went all day because I knew that I could outlast the rest of the competition- especially mentally. When everyone was slowing down physically and mentally I was coming into my own. I always drank a lot of water but the most important thing that I think helped my performance was how long I played on my own and how I can focus longer than most. I would spend literally 10 hours a day with my stick in my hands and eventually it got to the point where I wouldn't feel any different throughout the day. The worst performances that I had in a set up like this were the ones where we were blowing teams out. It became very hard to focus and usually I would almost need one terrible game to regain my motivation to finish hard.
So, please, do tell your strategies and experiences getting through a tournament day set up like this...
