Hey
I have a question for you grrls...So I just started playing lacrosse..I've been playing box for the past few months..I'm loving it...I'm going to be plaing women's field this spring and I have a question regarding pockets. I have a DeBeer Response that came with a trakker pocket. I haven't done anything to the stringing because I actually don't know what to do..There is absolutely no pocket at all. I know women's sticks don't allow for a deep pocket like guy's, but what is legal? Should I loosen up the sidewall and bottom strings or just leave it as is?
Thanx

Place a ball in your stick and position you stick horizontally. Bring the stick to eye-level and move the ball with your other hand by pushing it horizontally (both ways). You should be able to see the ball right above the side-wall. Usually I can get away with the ball being level with the side-wall, but I think for it to be legal, some part of the ball must be above the side-wall. I hope that made sense... so if the ball is way to high (extremely legal pocket), the i suggest you adjust the bottom part of the strings. Also, you may loosen/tighten the string the loops around and connects the trakker to the side-wall strings if necessary. additionally, I highly doubt that you'll ever need to loosen the side walls!--cuz they're supposed to be as tight as possible.

You have to keep some part of the ball above the sidewalls at the pockets lowest depth. So you can pound it a little bit to giv e it a pocket, but it will never be like your box stick unfortunatly..Okay, it may not be unfortuneate, just another game. Good Luck!

doode, take advantage of the fact that you have a response. Those thing were made so you have uber maximumness poket deepness. With the trakker thingymabobies, loosen the leathers, but try to rearrange the crosslace so you have a lot in where you want the ball to sit (for most players and practical purposes, it's usually in the middle to lowish area of head). It's going to take a long time (but I'm obsessed with stringing, so don't take me too seriously), since you have to go through all the lace so that the slack distributes itself in each appropriate spot. If you do that, you will have one hec of nice sweet spot on your stick. :)Here's the catch though. If you loosen the leathers too much, the crosslace will be too tight, so you have to loosen the crosslace too.
