When I start a game..the first thing I say to the defense guy that is trying to stick me is......................I HOPE YOU LIKE TO RUN ! :agree

In the beginning he is covering me 1 on 1 like glue. I run even when the ball is in the other end. Then after he's had enough he goes into a sorta zone, which opens lots of opportunities for me. Hehehe ...... Us attackman are faster, smaller in most cases and can run forever.

I love toying with a big d pole when he thinks he can cover me man to man !

lol, the 3 g's i love it, and its true! i love it when d-men try to lunge or r just really slow. another thing i love is when everyone is running around on offense, and a middie tries to play d on me. its like "thanks, now i dont have to worry about the stick". lol, dont get me wrong, my best friend is an d-man, and hes really good, defense makes most of the game good, and its ok to get laid out sumtimes. like if ure diving for the shot and make it in, then the last thing i care about is getting knocked down the second after i shot it in. :-D

I like to earn the respect of a defenseman... i usually just crank out a few shots at him early in the game... because later in the game when the pain starts to set in... I can the go to the goal with little resistance. I get the goals and the Defenseman has a few WELTS to prove it... (#>======

ha ha whenever I tell ppl I play lacrosse they think I play defense cause I'm big but I play attack. Its great cause a lot of the defense I play is smaller than me so I can basically use my strength and size and dominate them!! The defense is all laughing cause I'm in attack then I score on them and it shuts em up :omg

jeez, attackmen are so cocky!!! you can run forever until you start playin midfield. plus, you can take longpoles so easily because, as much as i hate to say it, longpoles are dumb and slow. half you guys became attackmen because you couldn't handle midfield. middies are the real heroes out there.

yea georgiamiddie2, what you said is SO TRUE. well i mean.. i play attack, but when i played midfield, it was so much tougher to keep that quick sprint to goal when i had already been running the whole 25 minute half. cuz mid has to worry about getting the ball down the field, and then scoring. on attack, its just quick sprints everywhere and taking shots, nothing like racing down the length of the field to catch up w/ your d man.

Yah Well i play middie and I get the 3 G's well at least 2 of 'em just the women and the goals but no one cares about middies cranken from somewhere outside just cause we not fakin everyone out. But middies control the game and win championships. If you don't have middies that can move the ball up and down the field and stay in the game for a long time than you won't win anything

Alright, I have to speak up for the keepers and longpoles in the house!!
1) Don't even try to call us dumb, because i remember going blind on videotape learning every other team in the league's formations, packages, and man down plays.
2) If you think YOU get a lot of @$$, you will never know the answer to the only question a goalie needs to hear if he is wondering whether he will be able to take home a girl: "you really have bruises all over your body? Where is the biggest one?" And it is case closed from there.
3) I'm sorry Mark, but you should know by now that girls don't really want a little guy with a little shaft that is quick, they want a guy with 6 feet of steel that knows how to throw good, hard poke checks..... I am a dirty dirty man and i really should go now, but it will be much more fun to stay here and take a beating for what i just said

ok...no one is the backbone of the team, and everyone is the backbone of the team. Face it. Without attack, a lot less goals would be scored. Without middies, there would be no transition, and they add goals and d. Without d men, attack from the opposing team could go in and rip shots on the crease. without the goalie, d men would face attackmen just lobbing it into the goal. But I do agree, attackmen DO get all the glory. I don't think it's right, but it is true. Middies get glory too, but d men and goalies are too often overlooked.

tru, but when i play, me and my middies get the glory, we play good d and sick offense. goalies get lots of praise, not as much as attackmen. but d-men get no praise at all, I only recognize one d-man good, thats Christian Cook

I feel bad for you guys I'm jealous of you guys that say your DMen are fat and slow. That makes one think, how good can YOU really be? :/ In my leauge atleast (NE West 2/1) all the DMEN are fast and fit, I wish they were fat and slkow, then being an attackmen would be sooo much easier. Sucks for me :(..And also while middie is hardbecause your running alot that has something to do with your fitness not your skill really. I would think that being confined to half field, which is prolly more like half half field cuz of the concentrated area of play, and trying to dodge prolly atleast 3 defenders and then score on a fully rested goalie is pretty damn hard. dont get me wrong defensmen are usually fatter and slower than attackmen cuz they have have to be stronger, but on any serious team like Taft, CT or Hotchkiss, CT if the attackmen run the 40yad dash in 4.8 seconds (my time:)) then the d run is it in like 5 flat, which isn't extremely fast but is not slow at all. pz to u biatches.

see the key to defense is really not being picked out. If there's nothing big happening, it means you're doing your job. To shut the offense down. Yeah i guess goalies get glory too though. On our team, attack gets most of it though. But D men are usually not fat and slow, they generally aren't quite as fast as attackmen, but sometimes they are. the other captain on my team, d, is pretty quick, and we have one of the fastest kids on the team back on d because he's so tall and insane at d.

im a middie and i get other middies guarding me, and de-man, i run/use my stick skills to get by them. and the funny part is, attackmen get more glory than middies, middies run up and down the field playing defense than transisiton than offense, and have to go try and score. Kyle, us middies have to shoot on a well rested goalie to, and were the tired ones running up and down the field trying to get the ball for u to just take a shot, we do a whole heck of a lot more than we are getting credit for.

Goalies are there to stop what they can. They are like the "car alarm" put on alot of vehicles. They kept the honest ....honest ! In other words, they stop the easy stuff.

Just like with car alarms....... if someone that knows what they are doing comes along, it is nothing more than a walk in the park to steal the car.

Not to bust your bubble "Goalies", but once I'm one on one with you...your gonna be made a fool of. I'm going to embarrass you and make you wonder if your worthy to even be there. Odds are on my side already and with superior stick handling and trickery....you don't stand a chance.

Look at the high scores in lacrosse......it tells the story. Lacrosse is great because of fast moving, high scoring games not even found in ice hockey.

^^^not always...we have like a 5'2"/120lbs varsity attackmen, he's a finisher, but when he dodges its like a 50% chance of the def getting a penalty because he's so easy to pushover

and in a scrimmage the other team called a "special 9" play (9 is my number) where they would lock on me as tight as possible, when i heard this i turned to my teammate and said "ok, time for running" i ran this guy so hard for like a minute or two...sprinting where ever, but still in the play...i ended up getting the ball and scoring on him...

I don't say too much, but in that situation we were man up and this guy decides he's gonna come out and try to kill me. I crank up and shoot as hard as I can, and my follow through hits the guy on the arm. I think he may have fractured something, he didn't come back in. I just meant to get him playing more loose, but ah well. Next guy comes in, he's talkin trash. Says somthing similar like "tell your mom to call 911 now." So I say "hey who's #19 over there? His name's Johnny, right? See Johnny's arm? Stay away from my shot." Then just smile, the kid stayed away.
