View Full Version : What exactly is this forum for?
Well now that we have this pretty new forum.... what is it for? Im a little confused. How can we give live coverage if we arent at a computer?
We are going to equip every member with a state of the art handheld laptop. In addition it will have a internal modem that will connect you to this site at broadband speeds.
Interested in buying this bridge I have for sale?
Seriously....I'll leave this question to the mystery "Admin". LOL

Haha, wow, I thought this was in the women's forum at first... Yeah I am wondering too. It says we can use our cell phones? Is it just for men's games or both men and women? Either way, sounds interesting...

Its pretty easy actually. I am part of a very active college hockey forum where we simply start a thread of scores, etc. for a particular date. Then people at the game will call others via cell phone who can post the updates. Also people who are listening on the radio will post scores, updates, etc. for those who are interested in games outside of their geographic area. Works great. http://board.uscho.com/showthread.php?t=47004
I started tonites thread there, its generally whoever remembers to start it on a particular day. This is playoff time in DIII hockey so the number of posts in that thread will be down, but somehow we'll manage to keep track of every game across the nation tonite, thanks to dedicated posters. Some weeks a gameday thread will run 10+ pages easily and contain several hundred posts.
I suppose if there are people watching CSTV's game of the week, they could post updates, scores etc. for those who don't get CSTV. Probably would work pretty well.

Correct. Halftime of the Hopkins - Virginia game and you're dying to know what's going on? Maybe somebody on the forums from Baltimore is watching it live on Channel 2 and would give us all play-by-play. (Don't even be afraid to start a thread and ask who will have acess to the scores, ahead of time).
Get a ring from your buddy in the stands, harrassing you because the Georgetown - Maryland game is in overtime and you decided to stay at home and play x-box? Hook the rest of us up and fill us in.
After a game is in the books, want do debate until you're blue in the face whether Syracuse went to their zone package too early in the third quarter?
Or do you want to just give us some play-by-play on a high school game you watched?
Bottom line is, that type of information will gladly be received in their appropriate forums. But if the volume of posts gets real high, start sticking them here. Likewise, if you're looking for a mid-game update or some post-game analysis, check here first.
