Same problem over here in Scotland. I think someone could make some money out of selling lacrosse videos to us over here in Europe as we have nowhere to buy tapes of any games at all. (anyone with any videos of games they can spare, or feel like making copies of PM me)

I wouldnt sell because 1...I think its illegal...2...I'd rather spread the game...
If I can do it digitally I'll let you know...otherwise I would have to do VHS then I would need reimbursement for shipping...

do you have any chance to get the games copied on DVD? or get copies on vhs? a friend of mine works for the US army in germany and he would let me use his APO box, so shipping is cheaper ( of course I'll pay for tapes & shipping)
And I promise to spread your videos all over germany ;)

I taped it. I'm too much of a computer retard to put it into a digital format. I can make copies of the tape though (hopefully thats not illegal). I'd be willing to ship it possibly if you guys paid for the shipping and the cost of a blank tape.
if someone could make it a divx or some other movie format and post it up here that would be awesome.

MLL all star games....especially inaugural year with paul gait and grant jr, i want that badly
NLL all star this year and previous years
MLL finals
NCAA finals cuse tapes
Mann cups
Shoot, I'd trade a head or whatever for a couple copies, especially one who can master it to dvd, I use to able until my school ditched our final cut svhs to digital suites and went all digi cams and all digi editing for our projects,I have some sweet jr b highlights I need to convert too...dammit!

I got last year's MLL championship game on tape (Cannons vs Barrage)
I got the NLL All-Star Game of course
I got last year's NCAA Championship Game ('Cuse vs Navy) and the year before (Hopkins vs Virginia)
My brother's good with computers so he might be able to convert em...he just bought some expensive dvd converting thingy (yeah, I suck at computers).
EDIT: Oh yeah and the last MLL All-Star game i MIGHT MIGHT MIGHT have...I will have to dig that up (its actually the All-Star Game 2 years ago since there wasn't one last year).

maybe somebody who can digitalize the videos can set them up for bittorrent or something similar, dont know if its legal, but i doubt that anybody would care (its "only taped lacrosse games" after all)
and if that doesn't work, i would pay for the dvd or tape !

I will set up the 2003 MLL finals as a torrent on a website, though i haven't really figured out yet how to do it, cant rip the dvd for some reason.
i already set up two games from 2003. go to lacrossetorrent.gotdns.org:6969 if somebody has a better upload than my miserable 15Kb maybe somebody else could host the files???
also if somebody can set up a lacrosse torrent site more professional that would be great chance to share other videos, ncaa, mll, or even high school...
QUOTE=cmm343ebh]Lax101-
If you can get those of DVD's I may be willing to trade some money for them. Technically you cannot sell the copies (illegal) but if you are just trading the "back-up" copies it is kinda legal. If you cannot of don't feel like doing it for whatever reason that is fine. This could also go for anyone with NCAA Playoff and MLL playoff games.[/QUOTE]

If anyone has decent quality VHS tape, and wants tips on digitizing the video:
It's easier than you probably thought , and only requires a minor investment in computer hardware (TV card, ~$50 and up). You'd run the coax cable out of the back of the VCR into the TV card input, then use the software that comes with the TV card to capture the video stream to *.mpg or *.avi, or whatever on your hard drive.
If you have a DVD burner, you could then burn the captured stream. Basic video edit software even lets you edit out commercials, set up chapters, and make a semi-professional looking DVD without too much effort.

I have it in mpg2 format which is about 6.5GB, .wmv with commercials/halftime/interviews which is ~900MB and .wmv with no commercials/no halftime/no interviews which is ~600MB. I can ftp it to anybody's webhost with enough space and transfer. I also plan to record all the MLL games on espn2 over the summer and any College games on in my area and will make them available the same way, although i may not cut the commercials for thoes it was a big pain in the ***, i just couldnt fit it on a cd otherwise.
I would consider burning cds or dvds for people, the problem really comes down to it burning + shipping is enough time, effort and cost for me to not want to do it for nothing, but not enough to really charge for, I mean having people send me $1 M.O.s seems silly.

what would be the easiest way to for me to setup something so I could get it? I was at a party with some of the MN Swarm players and for some reason our local network was not showing the game, I really wanna see it though

if somebody could set up a ftp site that would be awesome, but for bandwidth reasons i would rather suggest a bittorrent site, that also would let everybody else upload their videos ( i think)

do you have cable internet? if you set up an FTP server and open up the proper ports on your firewall I can ftp it to you. you would just need to PM me an ip address, user name and password, then you could remove that user or change the password after I was done.
btw this is how to set up a bittorrent server, I am not going to do it but I will give the file to anyone who wants to.

the other option is if the mark or whoever runs the board will host it.
Yo PGR, I got the '04 mann games on dvd, all 6, but It might take me a bit to get them copyed to dvd because my bro has the burner

Well, I tried to tape it, but I had practice so I had to leave it taping with my devilish little brothers in the house...I only managed to tape the first half, but it was a sick half, let me tell ya...
