I have hard mesh on my stick, and I want the mesh to become as soft as it would in 2 years of play. Does anyone know how to make hard mesh soft without taking the mesh off the stick and without boiling the stick overnight? Is there an easier way to loosen up a pocket quickly and easily? my pocket is getting softer, but I want it as soft as soft mesh, just to hold its pocket and throw better.

Also, I've already pounded it in with water, and used the blow dryer tecnique. I just want something fast and easy. would putting like a cleaning solvent on it work? something to take off most of the chemical that keeps the mesh hard?

i wouldnt use any cleaners or anything like that...sometimes it can actually make you mesh harder and change the color... anyways i think your best bet would just be to boil it... to make it soft you dont have to do it that long, just keep putting it in waiting like ten minutes, take it out let it cool then repeat for about an hour for it to be pretty soft. the more times you do this the better. also ive heard of some people actually putting in in an oven or microwave, but i wouldnt prefer that.

Is there anything I could do that wouldnt involve boiling it or doing something like that for a long period of time? I've done that before, and it shrunk my pocket up a lot.

well i would recommend showering with it. Shampoo and conditioner does wonders for loosening it up, but I don't know how easy it would be to get it clean since it would be on the head.

yeah try leaving it your bathtub for like a week and shower with it all the time for like a week and tell me if that works good, i know wasging it before you string helps but for a whole week, hmmmmmmm i want to know what happens

I would normally try that, but this is my game head. my bionic broke, so this is it. I'll problably try the shampoo/conditioner thing tho.

We have a bathtub/shower thingy in our basement that is never used, would soaking the head in that tub for like 1-2 days help at all? should I add fabric softener or something to it?

I played with a guy who soaked his stick in warm water with fabric softener. That's what he attributed to his pocket

I agree with all who said shampoo and/or conditioner, I am pretty sure the febric softner thing would work pretty well too. Wven just a few hours in warm water with a lot of conditioner in it helps a lot.

I THINK IT WAS ON E-LACROSSE I READ THAT YOU CAN PUT YOUR MESH IN THE WASHING MACHINE AND APPARENTLY THAT WORKS REALLY WELL.

whats with the caps? and to make mesh softer you can shower w/ it, soak it in water w/ fabric softener and many other things but those probobly work best.

just pound it in for like an hour straight and it should be fine.

throw against a wall 100 times every day. This will give it perfect pocket and softer mesh. it takes time but you will get your stick better and your skills.

The way I get my pockets perfect is string the head like normal then do the knife and ball trick and put it in warm water while the ball and knife are in the head still. Leave it in there for about an hour then go throw with it while its wet.

Thanks buddy, I just wasted an hour of my life wasting my time pounding the freaking mesh for an hour. And guess what, it did absolutely nothing.

Ok well ive done it two ways. I would say the easiest yet less effective way would be first condition the mesh and wash off with cold water, put in freezer for 10 min (dont ask me, it works), then condition and wash off with hot water and stretch out multiple times wearing down the mesh. The best yet time consuming way is not to pound or do the butter knife trick but rather to play wall with it for hours and hours on end, it makes a more "natural" pocket and i believe all around better than just doing the ball and knife trick. Thats my two cents.
