i play hs lacrosse and am a beginner.i currently have a al6000 pro and a av8 head. my stick just from 7 practices and 1 scrimage has alot of dents in it. my skills are pretty good now. Ive been playing alot of wall ball (1-2 hrs a day). i think i want a more pinched head now too. i used my friends vapor and like that. what will be a good combo for a first year player? i was thinkin a f15 with a vapor. any other suggestions? thanks.

Well a vapors a good head and for the shaft, go ahead and put some money into if you're sure you want to keep playing. I use and f22 and i love it.

Man, that's such a waste if you used a stick for 7 practices and now you're getting a new one. Plus, new vapors are nearly as wide as AV8's. If you're really determined on getting a new head, then maybe try to pinch it. Look around stick tech on how to. Elsewise, using that wide head may make you a better cradler, since a wider head=less ball control.
And if you're getting a new shaft, do not buy an F15 unless its the actual F15. Brine stopped making them, and made a similar shaft called ignites. Ignites dent a lot and break easily, unlike the old F15's. Do not settle for an ignite, try to get the real deal (an F15)

a good al around head for a begginer is the wizard. Its heavy though but if u pinch it good the ball will stay in well. For the shaft i would have to go with a harrow but those can cost alot of money. It really depends on how much your willing to spend. Some stores in B.C are selling a combo of a wizard and triax gorilla for 100$$ (can) really good deal.

harrows are no good if your playing a lot in high school...they just dont hold up...i snapped two in 8th grade and just gave up with them, theyre light and have a good grip, but not too much strength.

what type of harrow did you get? i have a field attack now and i broke a kid's kryptolite without even realizing it. He tried to check my stick and it snapped 10 inches from the head. i ask him later who did it, and he was like you did. i didn't know that i did it.
back on topic. go withan f15. you sold be able to get one somewere for cheap. see if any of your friends have one on a back up stick.
as for a head, cyber, debeer intreped(my friend got one for $25 bucks strung at ****'s sporting good(i know the first word will be asterisk***'ed) warrior savages are pretty good and you can get one for 20 bucks on lax.com

bluelax, I have an F15 that I am willing to sell or trade for. Ill sell it for 35 bucks. Its blue so if your team colors arent blue you probably will not want it. Send me a private message if interested. Also, if you want to stay with STX then go with a core and X2. Brine Cyber and ignite supra are really good also.

I personally like the torque a lot i think its one of the best heads on the market.. as for a shaft ive used an f-15 for about 4 years now and theres maybe one dent in it if that.. i also like the k-lyte thats been holding up for me really nice as well

i also like the torque because u can string it any which way u want to get the perfect style. I have an F-15 and i love it. Its not too heavy and it is REALLY strong. I would also recommend an Icon. They are pretty inexpensive and they are a good head. For the shaft i would just go look around yur local lacrosse store adn pick out which one you like best

yeah my best friend uses a torque for attack and he dominates with it. But for a middie, a cyber would be good even though they arent that stiff. And I use an F15 and they're awesome too.

I really like my evo (cause i like my sticks with little hold but thats just me!). and plus if u feel like u need a new stick, just pinch it to the size of an evo pro.

Whaaaaaaaaaat
Thats like 75 american right? I got my wizard alone for that much.
Anyways, I like my f22, not a single dent after a year of abuse. I dont see an al shaft denting up too bad after that long. It might be the conditions you use it in. Make sure you bring your stick in fromt he car and keep it warm, cold sticks dent/break easy.
