View Full Version : double shooting strings

alright so i just strung up my stick with hard mesh and put in all the shooting strings and i decided to try something new. when i got to the u string i put the basic weave pattern in and then after that i wrapped it with another shooting string. it put an unbelievable amount of hold into the stick but i don't know how it throws yet because no one is around to throw with me. i was just wondering if anybody else has done this and can share their thoughts on it

you know how brine puts the shooting strings in there sticks? well i did that and then i just took another shooting string and wrapped it over the first u. the second one looks like the way warrior does it

I'd hate to rain on your parade, but I have a feeling that it'll shoot low. I could be totally wrong, but that's just how I think it'll work.

it doesnt hold the ball as much I believe. I know what you're talking about and I think it's just a way to make the ball come smoothly out of the pocket.

i do the same thing on my stick, so do a lot of people. you run half the lace down the back, then wrap the rest of it around throught the diamonds, e-lacrosse has an article on this.

laxdevil i know what you are talking about but, I think what he is talking about is different. He weaved a U shaped string and then after that he wrapped the weaved U in a different string. Am I right?

you are gonna have a little whip. I know a guy that plays face-off and he doubles-up his shooters. When he clamps it the ball sticks and he pops it out to the wing man. Hard to explain but sweet if you watch him do it.

yes sharklax you are right. that is how i did it. i have practice today so i'll test it out there to see how it does.

if the double is up near the scoop it can be used to keep it from hiting the plastic. if used like you said it will add hold but there mostlikely will be some whip also.

if the double is up top it makes a smooth roll off. thats wut i hav. 2 strings then a u and it works great!
