Who's your favorite defensemen and long sticks on the Pro and College level? Any Veterans, Newcomers or general beasts worth noting? Passivia for the cannons should be awsome, Tom Fallon's always good and Brodie Merril is pretty unreal, who else? :banghead:

The following is not all-inclusive, I may miss quite a few great players. Rob Bateman currently playing for UVA after transferring from Penn State is right up there as best in the country. I would take Brodie Merrill ahead of almost anyone in the country in a draft. You could make a case for Tom Garvey from Hop as well, solid player. I hear only good things about Jack Reid at Umass. Jeff Bigas from Salisbury is a machine.

On a personal note, 2 guys I've played with that I thought were outstanding young players, Casey Carroll is a sophomore at Duke and Ricky Pages is starting for Ohio State this year as a freshman. I saw both play on Long Island last summer and I thought Ricky was at least a junior in terms of ability. There was nothing he could not do well: take it away, cover, clear, carry, shoot, ground balls. Casey was the same way, amazing stickwork.

John Glatzel, Sol Bliss and one man who doesn't seem to play anymore, Brett Hughes. Those guys are my ultimate superheroes. Brodie Merrill could be a hero of mine if I see him play.

I saw Brodie Merril at the first 4 on Saturday and he can dominate a game from either lsm or close deffense. I also saw Dave Pietramala ,the current coach at Hopkins, play in college and he would dominate a game. I remember in the Final Four with time running out Pietramala took the ball from Gary Gait near the midfield line with an awesome over the head check then got the ground ball. They still lost but taking the ball from one of the best offensive players ever in a pressure situation is pretty damn good.

Passavia for the Cannons is a MONSTER...Merrill will make any team in the MLL he goes to better...Much better...Other dpoles I like are Panarelli from Cuse, Bateman (LSM), Corey Harned from Hop last year...and in the Inside Lacrosse yearbook, it says that Jack Reid is poised to become the best defenseman in the COUNTRY at the college level...He is an animal...Gotta like Zink (Hawks), McClay (Pride), Ryan Curtis (Cannons) and Damien Davis (Barrage) too...

Ya Tom Fallon is amazing he was at my indoor practice like two weeks ago because his younger cousin plays with us. Also watch for Dan Whiple of Umass to be amazing he's a close D.
