im not one hundred percent sure im a captian yet, but im always the one leading the cheering and the team, so i figured id get a bit of advice just incase

when your in the huddle, what are some things you say to your team before you cheer it up at the end of practice. i usally say something like "nice hustle" "be sure to listen to the coaches" and stuff like that, but im looking for more. what do you like to tell your team, or as a non-captain what do your captains tell you?

...and i think there was one more thing i was going to put up bnut i cant remember for the life of me what it was.

if you guys have a fight song or a chant you should lead it. have everybody chant it and set some goals for the next day. u also should do this before games and set the goals for the game and mention somethin that wasnt too good in practice to try to improve on. the team looks to the captain so dont do anything stupid. good luck

Hmm. My captains are super lazy, but I'm hoping to be one next year. Play hard, respect your coach (mine's like 22 or 23, so sometimes people think he's a player) and tell players when they are doing well. You might want to read this book:

How to Win Friends and Influence People
Dale Carnegie wrote it, I think. It'd be great for a captain, because it talks a lot about how to inspire people by appreciating them. Stellar read.

ok advice--if u are trying to help someone by telling them what they are doing wrong during a drill. be constructive. my sister a captain like yells at me when i mess up. so be supportive and positive and a leader at all times as a captain.
also, never give up. one of our captains and our only goalie is getting her tonsils out and is missing the biggest game of the season and a hugee tournament we are gonig to in northern california. THAT is NOT something a captain shuold be doing. it wasnt completely avoidable but her attitude was terrible.

in a huddle get everyone pumped up before the game. tell them to go out hard and get a few goals off the bat to show the other team whats up. after practice get everyone pumped for a game coming up, tell them they did good in practice, and mention things to improve on. also make sure u lead a cheer or something :)
