i just got my new stick, profile on an Axe, and i have never put tape on my stick in the past but all my teamates do, and i have no idea where to put it, where do you put tape on your stick and for what reasons? and why do you put it there

i put a little on the end to hold the cap on and also it helps when you throw poke checks

i put some on the end, a strip where my top hand is when i shoot (so its in the same spot everytime, and i can quickly move my hand there), and one at the throat for f.o. grip.

i have it a lot like sully
every one just about how tape around their butt, just to make sure it stays on
i have a little strip around the middle of the stick to show me where to throw
my coach acutally siad to find out the best spot to throw
put your stick on the joint oppiste the elbow, where the for arm meats the biceptual area and then bring your hand straight up, where your index finger rests is the pefect spot for throwing
and then i have a lot of tape around the head that goes about a forth to a fith down the stick for grip when i cradle

i have some down on the bottom for the cap and my bottom hand, some in the middleish of the stick where i like to throw, and a couple pieces up top for extra grip with my one hand cradle.

Same as most, some to hold butt on and then a thin piece near the top for throwing or grip for cradling.
I got an all tape end cap, which i like much more than any other. i have tape at the top of the stick, by the handle, about four or five inches, and tape at the bottom, about four or five inches. My gloves, (vents) have amazing palms, so anywhere else it becomes an impediment.

i have a bottlecap/tape endcap (they work the best) and the rest of my shaft is naked. i hate tape. i hate grip. thats why triax's rule....

i go all out. on my short stick i hav 11.5 inches from the but cap up. on the top i have 6 inches from where the plastic and the shaft meet. what can i say i LOVE GRIP TAPE

Well I play long pole and heres what i do. About 3 inches for the bottom. And then where I have my hand places I have thick tape there, not really sure it does anything, but it looks cool. lol :)

its all personal preference, i am not a fan of it on lax sticks

Agreed, just try different things and tape is pretty cheap. If you like it keep it, otherwise riop it off and try somthn else.

Yeah, STX is remarketing some of their top shat's, their C405, Scandium, and Titanium Enhanced Alloy. The Axe is their new C405. I believe that Lacrosse Unlimited has pics of them. I know their catalog does.
on my long pole i tape the bottom 10 inches up, with nylon lace underneath, in a winding pattern up the shaft, it locks the fingers on for solid control on pokechecks. and fits nicely between all the fingers

i get rid of the crappy caps and make a taped butt end, a little bit of a grip at the bottom, and for rainy games i add tape at the taop hand portion for added grip in rain, but other wise just my grip, i got rid of the shooting guides as they were just not lasting so i learned to give up on them....

with me i usually tape a shotting guide where my furthest shot goes and i tape a grip at the bottom so i could sucessfully do a native pick-up.

dont put tape on your shaft just because other people do. its all about how you like your stick not how other people do. I would say try it and if you dont like it simply take it off.
I put a ring of tape around the bottom of my shaft for a butcap and about 1 or 2 inches up from there.
