In my box legue I have been playing middy. I am use to my long pole so I have never come up with this problem but...

When I throw a fake I get it foward but when I bring it back the ball slips out of my pocket. It just rolls right out when it is behing me. Is there any way to fix this by rearanging my strings

I am using soft mesh with 3 shooting strings.

use soft mesh with 6 to 7 shooting strings...if u get it right...u dont get lip and u'll have the best fakes...always have a nylon as tight as possible at the top...then just use normal hockey laces straight across...1 nylon shooter on top...then 6 hockey laces under it. and i dont use a V but if u wanna u can try

How are you faking? Do you turn your stick towards your body or away?
A U/V string will help. When you fake, you may be bringing the ball back too far. It depends on how you are faking and where your stick ends up behind you.

It's hard to tell what you are talking about, faking a shot or split dodging. The easiest shot fake is when you rotate your bottom hand so the head of the stick ends up facing you on the fake. When you bring it back, you have to keep the head up and you bring it back with a little cradling motion.

When dodoging, as you roll the head in front of you to your off side, you need to make an exaggerated craddling motion, bending your hand almost all the your way over into body. Then when you bring it back to your shooting side the head should be square up to the goal. Both the faking motion and bringing it back to your shooting side represent a craddling motion and it isn't working unless you feel the centrifugal force of the ball, as you move your stick forward and back. Remember this fake isn't effective, if you don't sometimes change hands and move to your off side shot. Otherwise, the D will always play you to your strong side and block your move.

I fixed it on my stick. I had to mess with the shooting strings. Thanks for the help

my suggestion is to deepen the pocket, slap one or two more shooters, create a little whip or lip to hold the ball more,,, see my pics posted all over these places, i think the pics will speak for themselves.... the link is under stick tech "send pics here for entertainment thread" and all those ones.... and also under
canada section with the "sick pinches and pockets section..."
