Hey guys. I'm from Chicago, Illinois and I am the head coach of my highschool's lacrosse team. I graduated last year and came back this year to help out, but they were in need of a coach so I got the job. I have many but limited drills to run during practice. I played lacrosse for 4 years and went to camps in illinois and new york. Can anyone post drills that you run during your practices? I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks a lot guys.

3 man 2 ball is a favorite in my school.

- three people in a line, the two on the ends have balls.
- middle man cuts towards one side, catches the thrown ball, and throws it back, then turns and runs toward the other side. switch people every 1:30, then after 4:30, switch to offhand, then you can do over-the-shoulder (only one ball- throw to one side, look over the shoulder while running, take it over the shoulder, throw it to the other side, turn and run... you get the idea).

Add another player in the middle and make it 4 man 2 ball. The players on the end don't get a break, and to keep from banging into each other, the 2 players in the middle must catch and throw to the outside, righty one way, lefty the other. Space them out, and you get hidden conditioning as well. A Nazareth College/Scott Nelson drill.

do a three man weave....it is when there are three lines and the person in the middle has the ball and throws it to either side, then he goes behind the person he threw it to, the person who catches it goes to the middle and throws it to the 3rd person the goes behind him......and so on and so on untill u get to the other side of the feild then somebaody shoots it

We do the three man weave, its a very involved drill and you do learn alot, especialy if you swtich hands with every pass/catch.. and most of the time i enjoy it its a good way to work on catching/throwing on the run and while moving.

4 on 3's are good too with an attackman at X just to keep the D men honest (with their heads on a swivel)! :bye:
