Game has been suspended due to another thunderstorm. Looks like it may pass and allow for the game to resume shortly.
Salisbury 6
Nazareth 4
About half way through the second.

I guess the weather is pretty nasty, there was some discussion before the game if it should even be played.

Coaches and officials meeting about the future of this game. Weather still is not good and the field may be unplayable at this point.

Must be real bad...I always thought lax would be played in any condition but lightning...
We're lax players not baseball players...

The description I got was "underwater" and apparently this field was not in good shape to begin with

Maybe the weather will be able to hold them under 15 goals, noone else has been able to for all 7 games this season.. and only 3 of those 7 have held them under 20 goals.. Keep updating, scores aren't anywhere.. whats going on?!

Game is nixed...Field too wretched to continue...
Any refs know what the ruling is on a game that gets stopped because of weather?

They should just give it to Salisbury, its a forgone conclusion they would've won, and at least Nazareth can feel good that they didn't score 20 goals before it was called.. hbm

This will likely count as a cancellation, with stats not counting, at least thats the initial word from the refs. I can't really see how an VERY incomplete game can be considered official.
And regardless of what HBM believes, this was not a forgone conclusion, in fact it was a quite even game that had swung both ways in terms of momentum.

Now now HBM...I know you are a huge Salisbury alum and fan...I do think Naz had the greatest chance to upset them out of anyone...I would love to see this game played out...Salisbury is good...but not good enough to run up 20 points on Naz...
Anyway...lets keep this thread just on the updates...if you want to discuss how much you think they woulda whooped on Naz, then we can start a new thread...

No, I didn't say they would Whoop or whatever, Nazareth, I respect Nazareth very much.. I just think Salisbury has kind of reached a point where recruiting has become very easy with their domination over the past ten years and their just that much beyond the other teams in their division because the rest of the talent in Div 3 is spread over several teams.. I believe Nazareth would have lost, but I have no idea how close it would've been really.. I didn't mean to insult anyone.. Besides I've been there, I had to play Hobart when they were still D3 and dominated D3 for 11 straight years before going to D1.. So just relax, I'm not flaming anyone..

I heard that Naz goalie is sickening. IS there a chance he could play in the MLL?

Naz's goalie is unbelievable. He may be the best goalie in all of college lax right now. I wouldn't be suprised if he was drafted by the MLL. He is actually only a junior right now as I recall.

Junior is right. From what he says he dose not seem to care much for the MLL. Meaning he doesn't really take it seriously as a career move.

I played youth with Alex, he's 3 years older than me, he was not that good in highschool, I have no idea what happened but he is sickkkk now. I still remember him in like 5th grade he was a little fatty who played goalie just because he was to slow to play any other possitions. God works in mysterious ways

His interview says that his older brother Adam (all american middie at Naz) shot on him for hours each day improving his skill.. Civalier is a great goalie, but I would be cautious when saying he is the best in all of lacrosse right now.. D1 is just that much better on both sides of the ball.. I'd agree if you said best in D3..

Got a chance to speak with some Naz players yesterday, who came over to RIT after they got home from Fla (doing some scouting of Wednesday's opponent, Cortland). They were very pleased with their performance against Salisbury. They jumped out to a 4-2 lead apparently, but got an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty for excessive celebration apparently after the 4th goal, giving Salisbury a EMO and a goal. They felt like had the game continued it would have been a very very close call either way and they learned alot should they see Salisbury again in May.
They also confirmed what everyone else had said about the field in Fla., essentially it was barely good enough to be a high school practice field.

What do they attribute the other 5 Salisbury goals to, luck?! They'll lose to Salisbury, I'm not saying their not a good team, they are.. but nobody in D3 is the Team Salisbury is right now.. Maybe next year..
