Hey all you attack men out there, who is your idol. Id say a few of mine are Ryan Powell, Mike Powell, Josh Coffman, Casey Powell, and Liam Banks.

that would definently have to be mike powell. i love his ankle breakers, and how he never slows down his tempo. i especially love how he hates stalling, beucase in women's lacrosse when the other team uses the stall play on you, its the ****tiest thing in the world.

nll - best forward for over a decade has been john tavares. he gets the goals, the assists, the ground balls and is as tough as they come. to this day he pulled off the greatest shot i've seen where he should had snapped his wrists when he whipped one passed dallas eliuk to the far side between dallas's shoulder & the goal -- we're talking an area no greater than the surface area of the ball -- despite being almost parallel to the goal! it was broadcasted on comcast back in either 1999 or 2000. if you saw the game on tv, you'll know which one i'm talking about. i support the wings but in a decade long observation, the forward i have to give the most respect to is jt.

powellfan1
07-07-2003, 05:49 PM
That sounds like a regular goal.

dougm
07-07-2003, 11:09 PM
its hard to explain -- there was no arm movement, he just rotated his wrists. the release and accuracy on the shot was unreal. besides, jt has done enough in his career to earn my respect as the best forward i've seen -- including gary gait.

btw -- some of the earlier posters on this thread should understand that lacrosse didn't start & stop @ the carrier dome. for all that orange talent you mention, the princeton tigers held them in check for most of the '90's. and i believe coffman was a middie.

RattlersVenom3
07-08-2003, 08:15 AM
coffman played middie in college, he plays attack for the rattlers

powellfan1
07-08-2003, 04:56 PM
Coffman was attack in college.

SUlax22
07-08-2003, 05:50 PM
No he played middie ask any big su fan(me)

RattlersVenom3
07-08-2003, 07:48 PM
He was a midfielder for almost his entire college career and earned All American status as midfielder, but his senoir year he played primarily attack and actually was an all american attackman too.

powellfan1
07-09-2003, 06:35 AM
I only saw him in Senior year.

I would say casey powell is my favroite player just because everythign he has doen for the sport and he is really cool and nice. But my favorite player to watch is mike powell he can take over a game better then any one in the game and his shows stopping plays a great for the game

RattlersVenom3

Need you say more

Rix
07-10-2003, 08:47 AM
Colin Doyle, hes the best box player in the NLL for sure

dougm
07-15-2003, 04:37 AM
colin doyle is a very interesting choice. a great rookie season when toronto was in hamilton but followed 2 years of less than stellar attack and seemed to becoming a problem child on the floor. but in the last two seasons, colin has barely even got penalty and has been mr. offense for a rock team that has lost guys like gill, stroup & heard. that is a very good choice and was my vote for mvp on the nll board,

RattlersVenom3

I watched him his entire career, and you are sooo right , man can he unload a wicked shot. Love him too. He is doing pretty well in the MLL too, a couple rel nice 2 pointers

1. Mike Powell - The player to single-handedly hand Hopkins their only regular season loss. Three-time first team All-American already. Tewaaraton winner. Need I say more?
2. Ryan Boyle - Definition of feeder. Great vision of the field. Excellent groundballs. Only real attackman who can be compared to Powell. (I think the only things Powell has over Boyle is his ball handling and speed.) Ivy League Rookie of the Year (Freshman) and Player of the Year (Sophomore). Only one to do that was Jesse Hubbard. First team All-American this year. Single-handedly picked Hofstra apart this past spring.

I am a big fan of the Gait Bros. especially Paul! John Grant JR is probably the best i've seen play right now. I like the Powell's, but i think all the others after Casey are overrated! Marechek is also a ****ing god with the stick, . Also Colin Doyle is good at attack, but they all play box in the summer, none of 'em are in the MLL, they picked their country over the MLL for the World Indoor Championship.

OOOOPS I forgot a young addition to, even though he plays more middie,

Garret Kikot was awesome in juniors when he played with us, he's at Hartford now! Check out his stats, he's a good ol' canadian boy!
