US Lacrosse had recently posted the new youth information on the purple card. Link to the site is:

Think this is a good idea and gives the umpire and teams another option. Will your area be using the procedure this year?

I've heard talks about it, I believe we are using it. Another thing I have to read about, season starts next week for youth.

Pa youth is using it as well. I'll let PLOAREF wade in on this subject, he has been very involved with both the card and youth.

Hey Laxref - never heard from PLOAREF - season starts this weekend on the dry fields (maybe 3 in the state). Anway, would love to hear from anyone using the card. Did it calm the situation?
I know that NJ was using the purple card last year. Just ordered a sheet of cards from US Lacrosse. Got about 9 of them. Considering what they are for, hope that is all I need.

Why don't you private message PLOAREF to see what he thinks. He may not have read this thread.
I can't help with the purple card thing. We haven't used it and, AFAICT, there's no need for it around here at this point, which is a good thing.
Where in NJ are you officiating? I spend a lot of time at the Jersey shore. Well, it used to be all summer every year, now it's about 3 weeks a year.

I officiate in New Hampshire. Some NJ Officials and youth coaches I met on vacation told me they had started to use it there. Not sure where the idea started.
I have seen only one time where the purple card could have been used and on that game - I was in the stands watching.
99.9% of the time - not needed but it's that 0.01%!

Is that why they needed it? Were you making a scene? :chuckle:
