Another New Middie Problem (Field Vision)

Alright so I just started playing for my high school. Today was actually the first day I practiced with the team. I noticed that I can play defense fairly well because it's very similar to how I play defense in soccer. I think I may have a problem with field vision and awareness on offense though. I don't know if it's just because I'm new and was kind of nervous about randomly jumping into a drill or not, but it seems weird that I'm not as aware as I thought I'd be. In soccer I see EVERYTHING, but with lacrosse, I'm missing a lot. So my question is this: Do you think it's just because I'm new, and not used to what's going on really, or is there something I'm missing here?

I thought the same thing when i first started playing. It went away with time for me, cause i wasnt used to the helmet. Once you get used to it its fine.

Yeah, it's probably just because you're new. Just keep your mind focused on making sure you know exactly what's going on on the field at all times, you'll get better.

i get kind of jumpy so i dont really pay attention to the people on my tean im not shure if its the same with you but maybe if you slow it down and then look around and find where every one is that will clear it up

You guys were right. Yesterday I had a game (in my 2nd day of playing-talk about pressure!), and it slowed down for me pretty well. I guess I was one of, if not the fastest person on the field so I burned pretty much all of the defenders who came up against me. My coach was commending me on how well I was passing which was cool. The problem was actually shooting yesterday hahaha. I missed 3 shots, 2 of which I probably should have made. I think that was due to nervousness =/ Eh well, I'm going to practice shooting this weekend a decent amount so hopefully I'll be good to go by the next game (Tuesday). Thanks again.
