Alright, after much pushing from my coach, I've decided to -finally- start working out full time (I've worked out in the past, but never too consistent). In my basement I have the Bowflex, and was thinking about just using that instead of going my school's weight-room which is often very packed. But, I lived in a closed neighborhood which means we have a Club House with a weight room in it, which seems to have your basic stuff.

Anyway...

But what I really want to know is,

Will I see a difference between working out with the Bowflex and "Regular" Weights...?

Using machines such as the Bowflex and home gyms seem to concentrate more on tone rather than building muscle mass...free weights do pretty much the opposite. Using a combination of free weights and tone machines will grant you the best overall results.

you said you "lived" in a closed neighborhood, is that a spelling error? if it is, and you still live there, then i would say go for the "regular" weights. you could probably get a decent workout from your club house weight room, and im assuming it isn't crowded and is close. On days you can't go to the weightroom for some reason, going down to ur basement would be a great alternative to skipping a workout

Using the bowflex will definitely help you out, but in different ways than using free weights, as the other guy said.
What you might want to do is start investing in your own home gym. Get one of those dumbbell sets that come with several weights so it can go up to like, 40 pounds. That works for me.
