Anyone ever throw their mesh in the washing machine;
1. to clean it?
2. to soften it?
If so, does it work for cleaning/softening it?
(searched but just a thread on cleaning mesh with like shampoo)

Then after you wash it, what about putting it in the dryer, or would that shrink it?

wouldnt the mesh maybe like get caught on to that thing that spins somehow and maybe rip it?

I don't see how the mesh would get caught on the spinny thing. The holes on even 5 diamond mesh are so small that it wouldnt' get caught on it. And yes, putting hard mesh in the wash with soap would soften it up for you. And i'm sure it would wash away some of the dirt, but do you really want to unstring a stick just to make the mesh cleaner?

In reality, a whole bunch of people have tossed their mesh into a washing machine. Usually to strech it out, not to just clean it.

i have put my mesh in the washer with bleach and a lot of fabric softener and it worked great. Not only did it help break in extreamly hard mesh, but it also made it incredibly clean. almost like new. My only warning is not 2 put warrior sidewall or warrior nylon string in it with the bleach mecasue it will cause them to turn a neon yellow color becasue the bleach reacts with the form of nylon they use.

i use the washing machine too.... i just throw it in there when someone is putting a load of chlothes in, and its ready in less than an hour, and its perfect. but dont put it in the drier, once it comes out, string it up immeaditly. you dont have to string fast, you just dont want it to shrink up before you stretch it. then pound the pocket and leave a ball in it untill it dries.

Please don't type in all caps, there is just no need.
I've actually pit mesh in the washer a couple times. I noticed that if you put it in the washer it gets slightly softer, but if you then put it in the dryer it gets alot harder than it was before.

so, to summarize:
Put the mesh in the washer to get it softer. Put it in the dryer to make it harder.

I broke in catapult jimalax in fabric softener and warm water, the mesh shrunk a bit, but was softer and game ready...
Be careful not to leave it long at all, and also the ends will fray, so leave it in 5-10 mins max...
Also, when you pull out the mesh, you will feel a sticky feel if u use warm water, that is the hard mesh glue melted, putting it in the dryer may ruin that effect, I air dryed using a blow dryer to keep some of that hard mesh glue in the catapult and 7d's but getting rid of some excess along the way in the wash.
Get more mesh and expirement, what I did with cataputlion turned out to be hella sick right now
