Personally I dislike the change in texture from the rubbery paint of the carbon fiber to the smooth feel of the metal. Geometrically, the grip is just like the krypto. I have felt lighter sticks but it is pretty darn light. My only comment is that I have seen the split used by real players not just Warrior's "Players Club" and it splits alright, right int he middle wear the carbon fiber meets the metal. One solid check there and you can say good bye to your $100 shaft.

i haven't had any trouble at all with mine and it's taken nasty checks already and not even a single dent or not even a ding, i'd definatly say to get it

One quick question...
Isnt it just a krypto pro with carbon sprayed on half of it? if it is it probally would be durable, but im probally wrong.
Thanks for all your guys feedback so far!

First of all, carbon isn't sprayed on, it is a solid. Second, not it isn't sprayed on. I think the way it works is that the two pieces are held together by a screw that goes through a plate at the end of the metal half and into the carbon fiber. Personally, I only by sticks and shafts that are one piece. Multi piece equipment is less reliable and in my opinion of lower quality.

Its a carbon fiber shaft joined to a krypto pro. It is joined together with a piece of a womans diamater shaft inserted in the middle. That point is supposed to be the strongest part of the shaft.

5.5 oz is pretty light if you ask me.

It's not two different shafts, the bottom half is covered in a thin layer of carbon fiber.

5.5 oz is lighter than the 803, the 803 is 5.6, and this thing is light, but not THAT light, it is very light though, i read that they were two pieces connected, but when i saw one i didnt believe it, it just looks like one piece of metal with rubber on the bottom, but that is not the case

I dont see what the point is. Unless the split shaft is confirmed to be the lightest shaft, then maybe thiers a point to buying it. If not, why spend that much money when you can get a db803 or even a krypto pro if you wanted and taping it up?

Ehh, I don't think it is lighter than the 803,I suppose it really doesn't matter though because it is up for you to decide, not some off readings from some lacrosse company. Either way it is light, and to me the difference between the metal and composite is not that much different. Maybe it's just me, but the metal almost felt a little rubbery like, okay hard to explain, but I didn't feel that much difference between the two grips. oh well, I am in love with my 803, so I won't be getting the split shaft any time soon.

hey the warrior split shaft works fine the carbon side has a great grip but it chips away just a lil but nothing to serious and the krypto pro side is real strong its a great shaft

the carbon fiber grip chips off even when i get the mud off my cleats, the meet point is the strongest part of the shaft, and it is on the heavy side. I own it and its pretty good

never played with one, but i've heard that a solid check could snap it in half.

I played with one a couple weeks ago throwing around and I wouldn't use one if it was given to me. There is no chance it weighs 5.5 oz. I guess the grip is ok but the same effect can be accomplished in better ways.

Personally I think it's another warrior gimmick. Having a split like that creates an inherit weakness. The differential in flexibility creates a pressure point where the stiffer material ends. What's worse in this application is that if each piece is actually joined by a section on the inside then that means that pressure point is pushing out from the inside of the composite section and applying pressure perpendicular to the grain of the fiber which is where it's weakest. Whether or not that's the way it's made, I don't know but regardless the design is not very good. The center section may be the strongest part but the sections above and below it are the weakest.
