Towson, Md.- It's a good week for McDonogh. They beat previously top-ranked St. Paul's yesterday and got a number one ranking in this week's poll. Meanwhile, West Genesee remained at #2, with Boys' Latin, St. Paul's and Landon rounding out the top five. South Side (NY) moved into the national poll this week and LaSalle (PA) dropped out of the rankings.

I can see it's going to be tough for some of these school to drop out. Calvert Hall, Gilman, Haverford... all have 2 losses. Granted at least one (and in some cases both) of their losses come against opponents that are higher in the rankings than they are, but it suprises me that they are still ranked up their in the top 25.

I'm also suprised St. Pauls is still ranked in the top 5 after dropping to McDonogh, and barely beating Episcopal, Dallas (TX) at home!

Western Reserve (OH) is ranked too high too.

Zooby 21: Please refrain from personal attacks. Maybe he is a coach or professional player or someone who moved their from the east coast. You don't know and we also don't allow any type of flaming on TLF.

Along these lines, anyone know why GPrep is having a rough go at it this season? Or so it seams to be. I would have expected them higher. Also, who in MA is good aside from Deerfield? I would think MA lax would have more reps.

Meh... *shrugs*

I didn't think his question was a personal attack. Hell, I use that same response when people brush-off or disparage Cali lacrosse. But if credentials are necessary, I grew up playing in No. VA and MD and didn't come out to So. Cal until college, so I do know what "good lacrosse" looks like. No, I have not seen them this year, I was going on W-L records and strength of schedule.

Regardless of my bio, you still haven't explained why a team with two losses already this season belongs in the top 25? Have you seen them all play? Why so quick to defend?

Western Reserve deserves to be ranked where they are at this point in the season. Take a look at their schedule then its pretty tough. The one loss was to St.Pauls is acceptable.

i know it was a scrimmage but lawrenceville killed deerfield. then they beat malvern followed up by hotchkiss. they play ridgewood in a week so maybe that will propell them into the top 25 but they definately deserve it and have the talent to be a top team.
