There is an NFHS case (7-2.d) where a player is serving a 1-minute NR and a 30-second technical foul. His team lets in a goal during the 1 minute NR portion f the penalty time. The RULING states: B1 must serve the full one-minute of NR time. The penalty is releasable for the final 30 seconds.
It SEEMS (to my reading) to state that as soon as the 60 NR seconds are up, B1 is able to reenter. I *THOUGHT* that a goal during the NR time is NOT carried over, and B1 can only be released from the releasable portion of the penalty is if the goal is scored during the 30 seconds he is serving for that technical foul. That is, a goal from 1-60 seconds does NOT affect the final 30 seconds of releasable penalty time. Only a goal from 61-90 seconds causes early release.
Which is it? Does a goal scored during the NR time wipe out the releasable time? Or must it be scored during the releasable portion of the penalty time to be released? :imparied:
