I think that a shot clock should be used in college lax. The MLL uses it and I think it has really sped up the game and increased scoring. It is just so boring to watch lax players hold the ball.

I really don't like the shot clock. In the mll it is a good thing because it makes the game more fast paced and exciting. However, in college lacrosse there is a stalling rule in place that prevents a team from holding the ball too long. I dislike the shotclock mainly becuase it puts less preasure on the defense to take the ball away when they know in about 45 seconds they can get the ball back. I think a shot clock would not be any good for the college game right now in my opinion.

the reason they use the shot clock is for more scoring so the game isnt boring and has excitment the game of lax is never boring though but it would be dumb in college becuase theyre scoring opportutities come from taking the long possesions

i think a shot clock around 1 min would be great. im sick and tired of seeing teams come down the field and just stand there with the ball without even passing it every single posession. i know it's a strategy, but it slows the game down alot, and if lax is gonna grow it needs to remain the fast break run and gun sport that is exciting to watch. i can enjoy a settled game and a fast break game, but i can't enjoy a game with stalling on each posession.

But stalling is part of the game, and also think about the wheel offense, just working it around constantly moving the ball untill a D breaks down, and then hitting the open man right on the crease, works great. And you need to stall when you are subbing middies and such.. But the wheel can go on for several minutes with out any thing changing. also when you are simply stalling to kill the game, can last for several minutes, or stalling to kill a penalty. I think for the MLL Its the right thing, but for college it would be terrible. I know my team that we kill both penaltys and the end of the game by just holding it, i personaly have held the ball for almost 9 minutes just standing there at X and a D man didnt come and chalange me when we were only up by 1... so we won. If stalling works, i dont see the problem with it, and a D can kill stalling by simply being slightly more agressive.

the shot clock is gay... lacrosse is already a fast paced game without it... i mean, i think college lacrosse is way more exciting than MLL... but thats just my oppinion... i think by adding the shot clock they are ruining the game... i would hate to see a shot clock in college

In the MLL the shot clock takes away from the excitement. Although there may be more goals, it takes away from the overall product. IF you watch an MLL game you see the same thing over and over again. Although it might be exciting a few times a game, it gets boring when you see it 40 times a game.
AS for the shot clock in college I dont like it. I hate the stalling and it takes so much away from lacrosse. Im praying that a D1 team will be like Cuse and U MAss of the past and massacre teams. People will then realize how to win. What I hate most about the strategy of a stalling offense is that if you are down its extremely hard to get back up. Not only because its nearly impossible to score more goals stalling in a short period of time than a run-n-gun. But because if the team tries to go run-n-gun it will be extremely hard to adjust to.
