i have just switched from middi to attack and i wait at the midfeild line but when we go on a fast break the middi with the ball comes running down and i turn and run behind the goal but the down side of this is that i cant see where the ball is because my back is to it and then the next time ill turn around and run backwards and he will catch up and sometimes pass me so got any hint/tips on how i can get down fast and still see the ball? thanks

I dont wait right at the midline...i wait about halfway between the restraining line, and the midline...that way if the ball gets pushed over the midline i can run up and get it...and if we get a fastbreak i just run backwords and take point at the restraining line...On a fastbreak its kinda pointless to run all the way back to x (behind the goal)
As long as u keep ur defender on you...you can be where you want inbetween restaining and midline...
if you dont want to listen to that...just look backwards when you run..or glance back every few steps that way you can get set up, or realize if he gets checked and the ball goes down

If you wait right at the midfield line, you risk going off sides if the ball comes to you. You have to be able to recognize when your team is about to get the ball back. When the ball is down in the other box, when your goalie makes a save, or when your d-men take the ball away are all signals that your team may get the ball back soon. As soon as this happens, make your way to a good fast break position. You can back-pedal, but if your middies are sprinting toward you, you have to sprint to your postion.
Depending on your clear, you shouldn't really go behind the goal on a fast break. you should set up in an L formation. One attackman at the restraining line opposite of the side the ball is coming from, and the other attackmen should be on either wing in good shooting/feeding positions.
Once the middie gets near your restraining line, he should pass it to the attackman at the top of the box and that attackman should look to feed. If nothing is there, he has to pull it out or swing it to a wing guy who then carries the ball behind the goal.
