View Full Version : Server Migration Input HERE ....
Please post any problems you see in regards to the server migration.
Don't make note of the IP address being displayed. That will take up to a week to change. Also smilies, avatars and other images might be MIA. I'll fix that too.
Fire away !
Oh ..... BTW, what do you guys think of the new server? Faster? Slower? Same? Give us some input on how the site loads for you !

Seems faster, but some of the recent threads and post kinda disappeared..
edit***its alot faster
That's part of the bad news. A period of about 6 hours is gone. A database backup was made and was restored on this server just a short while ago. Sorry, but it was something I had to do. Can you live with that? LOL

Of course I can live with that, I was just posting a "problem I noticed with the server migration"
I know my friend. Good observation ! All is good with me man. BTW you need to email me at mark@lacrosseforums.com about a moderator position.

I've got a problem!! I finally slapped together week 7 games, posted them, and they're gone!! I can't recreate that magic!! Oh well. :-)
On the plus side, the server seems appreciably faster than the old one.

It is a 100 X's faster for me, i used to get stuck waiting for nearly 5 minutes between pages somtimes, now TLF is just as fast as any other website it hit using broad band, if not faster... great job guys.
It was deffinatly getting a little Iffy there.. i had stopped posting almost altogether b/c it just took SOOO long for it to load, but huge differance now.
And just noticed the IP thing, kinda creeped me out, does it work if you type in the URL? i have TLF bookmarked but sometimes i like to type in the URL its gratifying..
And yes it does work to manualy type in the URL.. just checking. :chuckle:
Great news ! Thanks for the input. Today at peak time will be the big test huh?

Yeah I had a thread I made go bye bye but that is not a big deal compared to the speed here. Plus, I can easily recreate the thread.

I love you Mark, this new server is working like a dream
Sorry about the bump in the road today. The host setup the firewall and screwed me all up. The IP changed and the site would not come up until I changed the re-direct.

Yea, it was a little slow for me initially when you went back to the lacrosseforums.com rather than the crazy numbers... but it's flying now. Bravo and thanks.

Now that everything seems to be set and working great, I wanted to mention that I really appreciated the level of communication from Mark during the whole process. From the start when the old server was having problems and throughout the whole transition, Mark always made it a point to keep us abreast of what was going on. Even during the rare occasions when TLF was down, there was a note from Mark saying he was working on it. His dedication to keep us informed made me, and I’m sure all of us, feel like valued members of the forum.
