I was thinking about buying a benchpress and I was wondering if any of you guys knew where a good place to buy would be from and also if you had some advice for buying all the weights etc.

If you are going to buy a cheap bench, see if you can get one with the leg extension on the end so at least you can work your legs. It is not mandatory though. Also when buying weights, maybe you can try to get a set that has an ez-curl bar as well as dumbell bars because those will allow you to do all kinds of excercises for your shoulders, back, biceps, triceps, etc. You can even do things like lunges for your legs with dumbbells.
If you are looking for something new, try a place like Costco.
Your best deal is going to come from a yard sale or a buy and sell type classified newspaper...there is all kinds of weights sitting out there in people's garages just waiting to be had for a song.
I just looked in my local buy and sell newspaper here in Canada and here is a sample ad I found
"Gym set, 300 lbs of mixed weights, 3 benches, bars, $150".
That is only the tip of the iceberg of the kinds of things that can be found out there from private sellers. There are like 20 more ads like that with all kinds of goodies.
