Can an attacker stand in front of the Goalie(outside the crease) with his crosse in the air to try and block the normal movement of the goalie trying to clear the ball?? What if the goalie hits the attackers crosse as he is passing??

If the goalie has the ball then you can stand in front of him and try to block the pass. But if he hits your crosse when he passes it, goalie inteference, free clear.

IOW, what Snakey is saying is that an attacker is welcome to do it but if he succeeds he will be penalized.

So why even try...

If the attacker is smart and positions himself well, this can be an excellent way to stop a fast break. Or even score a goal: in a game last night, the goalie tried to make a quick pass just over the attackman's head. The attacker put up his stick, caught the pass, and quick-sticked it right back past the goalie. Goalie's stick never made contact...

That doesn't happen very often. If an attackmen is in front of the crease waving his stick in the air, I pass then follow through and hit the attackmen on the shoulder. Not intendeding to hurt the player of course. Automatic free clear. Attackmen learn early in the game not to do it.
