that makes no sense. its the same material, why would it break easier? i supose because theres more surface area there could be more room for material flaws, but i think that might be stretching it.

Well they should be stronger because they are thicker than attack shafts. Equipment forum! ZING! MOVED!

Defense shafts are actually stronger than attack shafts, I believe...but defense shafts are more prone to get broken.
I saw it happen in at a UNC vs. Duke game. A UNC defender went for a check or something and his pole bent clean in half. I think he may have missed the check and rammed his stick into the ground...
Defense shafts are more likely to get broken because generally their users have less control, and if they get jammed into the ground at full speed, they're done for.

Yeah I'm almost positive they are, that's why I never want a shaft that was cut down from a d pole.
