They are amazing. However- 3-6 hour battery = crap. We watched one movie on my friends (amazing display, oh lord) and then it died. That and sony isn't fixing ANY of the problems for models already out. Basically if you got it and it has dead pixels, scratched screens, etc. they aren't covering it in the warrenty.

i have a psp and its amazing... im one of the lucky ones that had one come perfect, and if you get one with a dead pixel you can just return it, a lot of people just open it in the store and if it is crapped up they get another one, 3-6 hours is only for playing games or watchin movies and its usually on the 6 hour side, this is more then what i need, if ur only listen to music then its more like 10-12 or more hours, also you can already use the web and ICQ, a few really smart people made a web browser using the web browser that comes with wipeout pure, so at this point if u wanna surf u need that game, but dont worry wipeout is fun as hell i cant put it down, i also have the tony hawk game, im not a big fan of tony hawk but this is pretty fun, the shape of the psp is amazing, really comfy

complaints: the placing of the on/off button is right under a palm, and a few times during extreme play iv turned it off, good thing though is that when u turn it back on nothing is changed, not a big complaint

the only other complaint is the lack of a built in hard drive, it comes with a 32mb memory stick which is fine for saving games, but for music or putting ripped movies on ur gonna need a 1gig stick which is about $150 and thats still not much, people are working on turning ipods into external harddrives for the psp, but thats expensive and annoying, but it could work

visit www.psp411.com great place they keep pace with all the news and they have a great forum

verdict: the psp is great, it literally got passed around my school before it got back to me since i got mine about 10 other people in my school have gotten them..... it is vastley superior to the DS

One major question...

people say you can play people over the world wirelessly...

does this mean it has online capabilities or just a range like the DS...

because some people say yes but some people say no

it has two modes, the firts is called Ad-HOC in this mode you can play people wirelessly from up to 200 ft away (which pwns the DS's 90 ft)

the second mode is called infurstructure which allows you to use a wireless network to play people anywhere over the internet, for free

so do you need to be near a wi-fi station.... or what??

If you want to play in Ad-HOC mode no, that is just a direct wireless connection to other nearby PSP units. If you want to play against some one over the internet (infurstructure) then yes you have to be near a wireless hotspot. The PSP runs wirelessly on the 802.11b standard, so you can use 802.11b OR 802.11g wireless connections (sorry 802.11a).

Arg, now you got me wanting one.
Its between a PSP + games + bigger memory card or
Ipod Photo + case + headphones...

I hate making hard decisions

Gran Theft auto, sequel to Final Fantasy 7, gran turismo 4, all coming out for PSP....what to do, what to get....

I figured out how to put stuff on my memory card.

It's actually hard to figure out but once you find a tutorial it's easy, you think they'd tell you how to in the manual.

But they have it on sony.com

dude get a psp, I have an ipod too, but psp's are the coolest gadgets out
