i have had these x factors about 5 months and they are ripping at the thumbs the tear is about half the size of a penny would i get a peanalty if a referee saw it

No. You should tape them up depending on how big the hole is. If a referee stick checks you then he will just tell you to tape them up. Also you can ask the officials before the game if they are okay.

no you wont. i've been playing with rpm pro stars since last summer so they're pretty beat up. i have a hole in the thumb that exposes my thumb almost completely and i havn't been called for it once.

If the hole is exposing your entire thumb, the issue isn't that you haven't been called for it--it's that you haven't been caught yet.
