I can't shut my laptop anymore causee the hinge on the right side broke. Damn, this sucks.
Anyways I have a Dell and I'm hoping my 3 year warranty covers it (I'm on my second year).
Anybody have any success with the Dell warranty? What am I expected to do?

I've got a Dell Inspiron 5150, and the hard drive burned out a few months ago, about 1 year into the warranty. They were very helpful, and I don't know whether it was on purpose or not, but they sent me a new HD with 20 more gigs of space than the original one within a week. and helped me set it up. Just make sure you ask them about the warranty, I know it sounds ridiculous but you may have to call them and have them physically tell you how to put the hinge in, because in certain circumstances if you install yourself, the warranty may be voided.

My company orders a lot of dell products for installations and sometimes their customer service people can send you all over the place if you don't have someone specific you normally deal with (that's 50 minutes I won't be getting back), but they very helpful once you get to the right person.

Call them, and push to get it replaced. Remember: You didn't do anything it just happend.
You need to push for it. Good luck. You will be able to get it replaced.

Seriously thought, the hinges suck if they're gonna break that easily.
